Sups up, people! Here's what all you tight-arses will be drinking next month if you've got a Dan Murphy's within staggering distance.
As far as the beer goes, nothing particularly interesting on offer, but purely as an alcohol delivery mechanism Asahi might be the standout here. I'd also be keen to see what the Cricketer's Arms tastes like though:
Kronenbourg 1664 330ml 6 for $10 (was $14.90)
Stella Artois Leger 330ml 6 for $9 (was $12.90)
Asahi Super Dry 500ml 6 for $16 (was $22.95)
Cricketer's Arms Scorcher Summer Ale 6 for $12 (was $18.49)
Crown Golden Ale 6 for $11 (was $19.99)
For the winos, girl-drink drunks and bogans here are the rest of highlights. The Beefeater doesn't seem a bad price, but you need to be careful with the cheap stuff nowadays, at least if you're drinking it in public: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/woman-thrown-out-…
Warburn Rumours 6 for $21 (was $28.20 for 6/$4.90 per bottle)
Monkey Bay 2 for $15 (was $13.99 per bottle)
Dewars 700ml 12 yr old $42 (was $46.99)
Stolen Spiced Rum $35 (was 42.99)
Beefeater Gin $34 (was $41.99)
Cruiser Mudshake 4 for $11 (was 14.99)
Nelson County Bourbon and Cola 10 for $25 (was 19.99 for 6)
Crown Royal Varieties 4 for $16 (was 19.90)
Monteith's Crushed Apple Cider 10 for $18 (was 24.99)
Just bought a case of the Asahi for $70 as its actually Japanese brewed :) Would work out at $64 under this if you could buy more than 3 a day. I was wondering why it was suddenly appearing.
The Summer Scorcher Ale IMO is very nice. Quite hoppy and a lot like Stone and Wood Pacific Ale. Its a step up from that Gage Roads Single Fin but similar for reference. At $12 a 6-pack its pretty good - far better than any of the James Squire, Matilday Bay clones out there.
