I am planning to buy a Steam gift card for a present. Does anyone know where to purchase it online for use in Australia? I would rather not have to go in person to JBs or EB games. Also are they all in USD so no difference where you buy as you just get an activation code? Sorry ignorant about how Steam works.

I have bought plenty of steam cards from US site (itunescardsdelivery.com is one i use) and when i add it to my account i usually get around the same as i paid in Aus dollars give or take some cents.
Example i buy a $20 US gift card and credit it to my account, i get around $27.50 AUD in credit.

Same if you buy a $20 gift card say at woolies and give it to some one in USA.. they might get $14USD credit when they redeem it.

I looked at the gift card section at Coles yesterday and saw that they sell $20 and $50 gift cards. Might as well buy from a safer seller and collect flybuy points .
They can come in different currencies but will be converted to your location's default currency so USD. Not sure where you can buy them online sorry. Would Coles/Woolies be more convenient for you coz i think they sell them there?
