CB radio help

Hi,

I picked up a uhf cb radio from scumtree to install in my truck. uniden uh088sx 40 channel

also purchased this independent ground plane 3db antenna and mirror mount from fleabay.

the thing is, my baufeng handheld picks up way more chatter on ch40 than this din mount unit.

where do I go from here

is the radio buggered?

I have a 15% off ebay coupon so I can get a oricom for $160

or maybe the aerial is a dud?

No expert, and not familiar with this model, but I had a quick squizz on google. Try turning the Interference Eliminator (CTCSS) on the CB off. Also try change the Optional Tone Squelch (SELCALL) off or down.
