Capacity: 1kg or 4 serves
Same, I couldn't find reviews, though there weren't many negative comments about the 2.2L which seems more common. Wife's friend has the 2.2L which she uses regular, so it was her impulse buy…not mine :)
This design is similar to the Philips…it's very hard to clean the top component…
I usually do home made chips in the oven. Is an air fryer a healthier, more unhealthy or the same?
Do they actually taste nice?Healthier but they look and taste better in the oven or fried normally.
So why would you even bother buyer this?
Due to time constraints?Had a 2L air fryer loved so much bought a 3L when they were on sale. Don't let the naysayers put you off. These things great purely because they have a basket that you can shake, say 5 mins into cooking to get contents evenly cooked. Much more convenient than waiting for an oven to heat up (eg 60-80L oven vs 3L air fryer). They're also awesome for heating up previously deep fried tempura fish / chicken etc as they get nice and crispy and excess oil drains to the bottom pan.
Yep. Air fryers are great. We have a cheap Rank Arena one which has lasted a couple of years so far. Gets used a few times a week. Much faster and easier to clean than the oven - and cheaper to run.
I'd buy this for sure if I didn't already have one. Great price.
RRP $299? wonder how many of these were sold at that price. Sorry mate, but what a load of crap!
An RRP is exactly that, a recommended price. Just because it's an RRP doesn't mean it has ever been listed at that price.
Air Fryers are great in general. I have been using Phillips one for over a year now and I can't imagine not having one of these in the kitchen. It does come in very handy when it comes to making quick snacks for kids…
Agreed I love air fryers too but just not for cooking chips from scratch.
i think these fryers are severely under-rated, they cook steaks with crunchy fat and moist meat as good as any restaurant, lamb and pork chops are also restaurant quality, kievs, nuggets, pies bacon pre fried chicken, all sublime, much much healthier than full frying, you can actually taste the food with only the slightest tang of oil, due to these fryers cooking with only a tablespoon of oil, get beer battered chips, you will shock yourself at how good they come from the fryer, you must keep shaking, at least once every five minutes for chips and nuggets etc, if its steaks or chops turn them every 5 minutes, if i didnt have one, id get this
Can you please tell me what the rough cooking times are? I can cook 4 pieces of steak in around 7 mins on my cooktop
i only have a 2 kg basket, however 2 pieces of steak, as described above crunchy juicy take 25-35 minutes on mine, yes its slower than a stove, but is it as tasty and juicy, i think so, pan frying forces the juices out replacing them with oil/fat, air fryers trap juices by heating all around, the difference between a pan and air fryed steak are night and day
Tasteless chips….or use nice fatty oven chips
Could you put duck fat in it and raw cut potatoes and expect a crispy gourmet result?
They also sell a 13.0L for $129
