Coleman 142L Marine Cooler $60 at Bunnings Warehouse Mindarie (WA)

180

I saw the other Coleman cooler post for $129 and went to my local bunnings hoping to score one. I was advised that they couldnt match that price because the model code were different. The picture on the other post has the bunnings code on it that the woman used to check stock.

I did some digging and found this one. This is the marine extreme, not the offshore marine extreme.

This is my first post, so apologies if I make any mistakes.

  • Can you please update the link for the actually item? I cant search them on Bunnings website

    • None of the big coleman coolers are listed on their website. I checked when the other post was made.

Can you post a photo of the cooler or a link to a picture on another site?

I changed the photo to one of the cooler

Are you saying that this was a price match/beat price or the raw bunnings shelf price no further negotiation required?

  • Update of this one possibly. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248869

    • Nah, I tried to get my bunnings to match that one, but they said the code was different so it meant it was a different model. The one I picked up was a marine extreme. Not the offshore one.

  • Rang Mindarie Bunnings looking for one and seems it was a 'promotional' item on clearance and OP grabbed the only one they had in stock. They checked and no stock is showing for other stores…Good score for OP but a "one off' doesn't really meet guidelines for posting on here.. Having said that, others may be lucky enough to stumble on a similar bargain at their local store..

    • They told me when I was doing the price check that the only coleman one that size was $229. They didn't even know they had that one in stock. Worth a look around at your local bunnings. (Mine was at the bottom of the $229 ones)

    Nice score OP!

There will be those that say this belongs in the forums because it doesn't really meet guidlines regarding stock levels and they probably have a point.

The problem is very few would see it and what if there are hundreds of these bargains at bunnings around the country.

    So………

I reckon we should have a section of Oz Bargain for speculative bargains. Just for bargains like these that are filled with posts of people who got an awesome score at one location of a major store with many locations and just don't know (and have no easy way to find out) if there is stock at other locations.

Then members of the community can do the leg work to what ever extent suits their level of need/desperation/obsessive compulsive bargain hunting behaviour and report back to the rest of us.

    Thoughts???

    • ^ this guy knows what's up. I think there are 300+ bunnings stores across the country. Even if each store has just one left, that's a few bargins
