Get a glass or stainless steel bottle. These are terribad for you.
hornsby nsw had them too. horrible though, cant open the pop tops, lids don't go on properly and they absolutely look like they are going to leak and crack easily they were $1 when i saw them, i wouldn't even pay 39c truly they are awful. Telstra nbn were giving out free plastic drink bottle at their information desk at the shopping centre though they looked alot better.
I have a few. They're ok. They only leak if you don't screw on the lid properly and push the mouthpiece in - just like all water bottles. Just don't leave them in the sun.

The industry is constantly changing on what they say - first, it's unsafe, then it's some types are not safe, then it is "discard them after 1 year of use". As a typical Ozbargainer, nothing excites me more than the free water bottle giveaway at promotional booths, etc. And if you have good contacts… wait till the end of a promo campaign, they have leftovers which they are willing to give to anyone.
I change them over so often that at times, I forget which one is my own water bottle for the day. Nevertheless, 0.39 cents with cashback is still a bargain.
PS: The real test of these bottles is to test which one leaks. Learnt it the hard way when it leaked in my backpack and the damage it did.
