Wonder if I can use it with the $50 b'day voucher?
Hey ive still got 1 of those and another winging its way to me next month haha
do they come every year if we have signed up? or do we have to apply each year?
haha, long term planning? lets take this one year at a time. :)
Well if you plan it well you could have one arrive every month if you really wanted to : p
@sk1ppy: true. But unfortunately, that many clothing items from tarocash wont go down so well in society. :P
@venu: My missus loves my tarocash shirts :)
@abadacus: =) that's all that counts.
I have signed up to tarocash, but not got this email. Wots the deal? Do I have to printout the actual email or does the jpg attached to this post suffice?
Ta
Tasteless, low-quality crap that's overpriced by a factor of three or four. Australian consumers are getting ripped off big time when it comes to clothing.
Do you know how to avoid this? I mean, where to buy the non-overpriced ones?
wear ur birthday suit :P
I think it's nearly impossible to avoid the insane markups on clothing if you're buying from retail stores in Australia; there's a severe lack of choice and competition in the market here. 90% of the clothing I've bought in the past decade has been bought in Europe, the US and Japan — often at a third to a fifth the exact same items cost in Australia (if they're even available at all, since the choice is terrible here) — but I travel overseas frequently so that's probably not an option for everybody.
Same here. I rarely buy the expensive crap we got here. They are often outdated anyways.
Hong Kong, Japan, SKorea, USA, Europe…
Hongkong.
Considering that the AUD is so strong atm, internet shopping is the way to go…
@Knightelf: Yeah, definitely. As long as you're astute enough to avoid counterfeits, there are some great bargains to be had out there at the moment; you can buy high-end designer pieces for what Tarocash charges for their junk.
@Knightelf: but running the risk of the clothing not fitting you correctly.
@zhenjie: My gf works at YD (same overpriced crap) and she gets 60% of everything. I never pay full price haha :D so basically 30$ for a nice shirt, which IMO is worth it.
Belts are 20$… So yea good deal. Just have a friend / GF that works there :p
@massari: how many customers does she serve per day? I had a mate that worked at YD and it wasn't many - the stuff there is so overpriced that it doesn't really matter they can still pay the rent and make a profit.
i buy from http://www.tradesecret.com.au/ almost all the top brands for reallllllllly cheap prices.
No stores in Vic?
Seems you can't buy online either.
Bali…
Not sure if it's just me, but I find the clothing quality to be terrible. Only bought three items from them and found the quality to be really bad. May have just been my experience.
I find the quality and design of TC stuff to be pretty good. I prefer their stuff to yd. I've got a couple of nice TC garments. I wouldn't call it over priced for what it is.
I too would like to know if i can use this 25% discount with my birthday gift voucher.I don't know how people can be confident enough to buy clothes online, without trying things on.
Where is the so called "quality" non-"over priced" fashionable clothes found? Which stores?
What is your wardrobe comprised off Venu?

Clothing is a rip-off across the board — from the low-end to the high-end — in Australia. Finding ANY store where the prices are reasonable by world standards is pretty much impossible. You can easily find basic menswear of similar (low) quality to Tarocash for about a one-quarter (or one-fifth) of the price, if not even cheaper, in every other developed country except New Zealand. The markups here are a disgrace, and I think consumers should vote with their feet.
Just take a look at the prices at Uniqlo's UK (a retailer with similar quality) website and compare them with those of Tarocash: http://www.uniqlo.co.uk/catalogue/men/outerwear
One extreme comparison —
Tarocash wants $249.95 for a wool coat.
http://www.tarocash.com.au/Cataloguewinter1513/696/n/3/0/0/Uniqlo sold this wool and cashmere coat, designed by Jil Sander, for £9.99 on sale — just $16!

I don't buy clothing online all that often, but I've never had an issue when I have. It helps if you ask the seller/retailer for a few key measurements as measured on the garment itself, rather than just relying on the tagged size.
Wow! $16 for a wool coat How did you learn about this?
Saw it at a Uniqlo store in London when I was there two months ago… ending up buying one of them for a friend. :)
How come that uniqlo coat has no size to select?
I think it's sold out now… it went on sale two months ago, and isn't linked to on their site anymore. Uniqlo doesn't ship to Australia, in any case.
also another good site is topman uk… some good stuff there and flat delivery fee of 12 pounds to Aus
any recommendations on where i can get good quality business shirts online?
was looking to spend around $70 AUD
I went to a top end tailor in Hoi An, Vietnam (A Dong Silk) for business shirts and bought 5. They now have all my details on file so any time I need more I can pick more out from their hundreds of fabrics and they will tailor them up for me and send them to my house :-). Its an absolute top end joint so the prices are around the $50 to $70 AUD mark but it shits all over the crap you would buy at tarocash and its tailored.
So one suggestion would be to find a decent off shore tailor (you could probably do the same in Bali) then get them to keep making your shirts :)
try moderntailor.com, check the weekly sales section…you can get a made to measure shirt for around $40 and there is a coupon code moderntailor20sf for $20 off
asos and topman are the places to go for everyday wear for cheap
and australians know it too, there was a 50% increase in purchasing from asos in the past year compared to the previous one.
all the australian chains, industrie, yd, tarocash etc are overpriced and crap, and make you look like everyone else.Tarocash is overpriced and TACKY!
Apparently you can't reuse the same voucher. I went into one store yesterday and used it, they would not accept it again today (changed my mind about not buying something). Does this mean they punch in the code at the top in the url? Seems strange since mine has a truncated id. It may however have been because the lady recognised me.
Any any case, if someone has a link they don't want to use you could please pass it to me via contact on my profile? Cheers.
Do you have to give them the email or jut the jpg as attached to this post? Just that I signed up ages ago to tarocash, yet didnt recieve the email…….
email is the same thing as jpg only that ive taken out the bottom line which has my email address listed. You should be able to use it anywhere, as many times as you want. Unless they recognise you of course.
I'll swing via a different store and give it a try tomorrow. There is a unique email id at the top when you print it off their site, but its truncated so I'm not sure how they use it.
Top left corner when you print off the site gives url/email.asp?id=################# where the ############# is a different code per customer, I believe. But as its much longer than what will print, I don't know if they were just bs'ing me or if they use the first 10 digits or something.
@Domingo: I went to Tarocash yesterday to use my free $50 voucher and holy shit, I couldn't find anything I liked. Everything was overpriced and looked crap. Ended up just getting a plain basic shirt. I wouldn't shop there again.
lol just recieved this email 1 min ago. Dam your quick!
