+1 to the a6000. I have had it for nearly 2 years now and it is amazing. It does a great job whether you are a photographer guru and want to customise everything or just want to put it on auto (like me).

Thanks! had a look, seems to be mostly body only for $700+, definitely sucks seeing as twin kit lens plus body went for 600 previously (Obviously dollar differences though). Trying to find a kit lens+ body for around 700 :/
Same here. Currently HM is selling the two lenses kit for $1248. Double the price than last Xmas. Too expensive. Can't wait until they launch the EOFY sale.
Looking for an A6000 for my first camera. Not sure when to pull the trigger as I can't find any decent deals at the moment.
Bought one last week from JB Hifi, for $1,000 with 3 lenses, 16-50, 55-210, 50 F1.8. The body was a display model, but had 0 shutter actuations. I was a little worried about the battery not being charged for months. The battery was fine in the end. Basically paid for the lenses and got the body for next to nothing.
There is a shortage of Sony gear, due to earth quakes. JB Hifi had limited stock.
Might add, I could of got it without the 55-210 for $810. If you don't need telephoto $810 is good price. 55-210 seems to be hit and miss. The resolution isn't so good, so it isn't so good for shooting distant targets. Works great as a portrait lens, and seems to focus quite fast in good light.
Wouldn't mind finding a deal like this. I went to my local JB last week and all they offered was the shelf price of $899 for a body and 16-50mm. They also had no stock, but wouldn't offer a deal on the demo, instead insisting they could order stock from another store. Seems the best price I can do otherwise is Paxtons which is $899 but gives the extra year of warranty.
Castle Tower store said a6000 will be replaced with a6300 and wont be ordering a6000.
I was expecting something like that but my local store knew nothing of the 6300, might try my luck again next time I'm down there.
@PeteM: It is a pretty nice camera for travelling. Not quite there to replace pro DSLR. It is an interesting camera. Has many of the features on an enthusiest or pro DSLR but is lacking in AF speed. It doesnt seem to have any cross type af sensors. It will only focus on vertical lines. You sometimes have to turn the camera about 30 degrees to lock focus. Looks like the PDAF sensors are all horizontal oriented. However when it does lock on it is very accurate. Since the af points are on the sensor you dont get front and back focusing issues. At the same time it can do 11fps with continuos focus. So you can spray and pray, and end up with few keepers.
There are manufacturer refurbished A6000s for ~$500 from the sony ebay store as part of the current 20% off sale. Very tempting! Although I don't own any lenses or anything so would have to buy them also.
Still looking for a deal for this camera. There hasn't been anything for so long!

Yea I think so, doesn't look like there will be a deal :( but look into the tourist refund scheme to save a bit!

Just picked a refurb up from Sony (eBay 20% off sale) for $559 with the kit lens. Keep an eye out if any others pop up. There was only 2 in stock and I got the last one.
Omg so lucky! I bought a new body only at the start of this week for $650 because of my NZ trip this weekend. This hurts so much!

There really hasnt been anything for a while. The a6300 is quite expensive, and the a6000 hasnt moved much in price. Your best bet would be to hold out for a cashback deal similar to those late last year.
