LG Nexus 5x Advice - Screen Protector and File Transfer

Hi guys,
I purchased a LG Nexus 5x recently and am looking for advice in two areas-

  1. How to transfer contacts/ messages/ files from my old phone (Samsung galaxy s3) to the new phone without purchasing any new cables (given the 5x can't be connected directly to a computer using cables provided)
  2. Recommendations for a good/ easy to apply screen protector- I was looking at some on amazon (e.g. Pleson Tempered Glass Screen Protector) but most of them don't appear to ship to Australia.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

        Not for 5x specifically, but have bought Nuglas brand from the seller for other phones in the past, most recent one is for LG G4.

    1. Contacts are associated with your Google mail address so once the same email is used on the new phone, contacts will be synchronized automatically.

    2. Messages: I have no requirement for this and haven't tried but just search on Google PlayStore there're so many apps for this.

    3. Files: just search "wifi file transfer" on the Play Store and it will return many apps. I use the paid version of this one (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dooblou.Wi…) and find it excellence. You need both phones on a same wifi network, through.

    Am not a fan of screen protectors and will not recommend any.

      Was totally unaware that contacts are associated with my google mail address! That solves my biggest dilemma.

    I recommend getting one from Aliexpress or from eBay, they are cheaper and in my opinion, the quality differences is not that much.

        Mine was for N5, so not exactly the same, but the same company.
