Seemed like an extremely good deal delivery is only $25
You cannot find that specs for $413 let alone Xiaomi quality.

this is only useful when your battery goes bad in a couple of years or so.
this is not a solution for daily battery drains, because how are you going to charge the second battery? you still need to put it in the phone to charge, and you will have to charge one battery, swap the battery, then charge again - every day! much easier to buy a portable battery bank.
Well it's a solution to have longer daily use. You have second battery fully charged and take it with you. Size is much compact and much lighter compared to power bank. When you run out of batt, you replace it with second battery and within a minute you have 100% charged again.
If you carry a heavier and bulkier battery bank, you need to wait for it to recharge, that's hours before you can use the phone again, or you need to use the phone while recharging, which means the phone is connected to a cable.
I don't see how carrying a power bank is 'much easier' compared to carrying around a second battery.
how are you going to charge the second battery
Emm… ever heard of charging cradle? Like this one here: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-g4-official-extra-battery-ki…
Even without it, it is not too hard to swap the battery in your phone when you are recharging at night. You would recharge first one in the evening, then when you are about to go to bed, swap the battery in the phone to charge it overnight. By the morning you got two fully charged battery again.
Take a portable charger. Problem solved. If you are carrying a battery, just swap it for a charger, which is a battery, but with a cable, and can charge any device…
@OnlinePred:
Still does not solve the problem of being able to have your device again at 100% straight away. With a second battery, you get your phone from 0%-100% in less than a minute (the time of swapping the battery). With a portable charger, you need to plug cable and wait till phone recharges in however long, even with quick charge technology it would be at least 30 minutes.
And comparing carrying battery to portable charger + cable? Battery weighs 100-200g and can be put inside pocket, how much does portable charger + cable weigh? And it needs to be carried in a bag I presume.
Edit: Actually, battery does not weigh 100-200g, the whole phone weighs about that so battery weighs may be 50-100g. Still, let's say 100-200g and still beats carrying charger + cable.
you don't have to wait till your battery is 100% down to start charging with the portable charger. plug it in when you are not using the phone. are you on the move at all times?
Then it would be a hassle of plugging and unplugging the phone from the power bank all the time, how would that be more convenient than just carrying a second battery?
@wildstone: Yes, although the battery is specific to the phone, the charger can charge anything. You can get fast chargers so can give you extra juice very quickly. Once you sell the phone and get a new one, you can still use the charger. A external phone charger can also provide more than one charge.
Also you don't give up phone design in the name of having a removable battery.
And you shouldn't carry a battery in your pocket as they can bend and cause leak/explosion.
@wildstone: Compared to turning the phone off, pulling the battery swapping and turning the phone back on. Given that you also need to charge both batteries. I'm glad it works for you but the case of removable batteries is a preference thing as there are better solutions available.
I liked the idea of having removable battery but after a while with my Note 3 it became a chore to turn off the phone, taking the phone out of the case, opening the back panel and replacing the battery. I felt I was killing my phone each time I was opening the phone and had the trouble to turn the phone off and on again :P
Now I have several battery banks which I choose to take with me depending where I go and for how long; Light 5000mAh, medium sized Xiaomi 10k and heavy 20k Juice Up.
I can charge my phone when I am not using it and of course still can use it while I am charging, just take 1m or 2m cable with you. And I can charge my wife's iPhone that even doesn't have the option to change battery.
By the way, everywhere I go I take a backbag with me so for me to carry battery banks is not an issue. I'd rely on Mophie cases if I would not have bag with me that day.
Long story short, battery banks are the way to go ;)
That's cheap. I just bought one and great phone, but it's been painful to install Google services and to get the phone configured correctly
How so?
Sounds like yours has an unofficial ROM 😢
I got it from eglobal, but I'm a newbie to tweaking Android phones and it had MIUI 7.3 installed which doesn't come with google play or anything else installed. It's been a learning curve for me to figure out how to get it set up like I'm used to with other Android handsets. And also so much tweaking to disable all the default Xiaomi software. I've nearly got it all working but MMS with either sim won't work , even though the APN setting are correct
What network are y using our on please.
Vodafone and Telstra, I get indicated 4G on both
Thanks mate.
I switched to Xiaomi this year and very happy as I go through phones like tooth picks. I actually want a high specced phone with a smaller screen - not bigger. Look forward to my next purchase from them.
MI5? BTW pretty unhygienic to use toothpicks more than once. Kinda gross.
Are you familiar with pluralisation?
If you don't that's pretty gross.
Got the Redmi note 2 at the moment and more than happy currently. Cheers for the suggestion.
wait for redmi note 4 pro probs will come out at the end of the year. hopefully the bezels are tiny so the phone itself wont be huge

Does this Mobile Phone have access to all OZ Frequencies. I went for Oppo R7s for the frequencies. Quality take a walk through Oppo factory on youtube. A "Tricky" deal happened to be as good at the time.
the postal cost of $71 to Tasmania is an absolute ripp-off and why I dont buy anything from this site
Same for country Vic…might get it shipped to the MIL.
Shipping is through a courier - that's why it would be so high. I would suggest getting it shipped to a friend closer, then put it in an $8 auspost satchel or something.
Bought this last month from Aliexpress for $370 delivered. Nice phone but if you have to download few things, it will take you to Chinese language store. It came with Google play store though. I don't recommend this phone for over $400
Pleaee beware that there is NO INTERNATIONAL OFFICIAL ROM for this model. I spoke to Xiaomi and they said international version rom might come in future but at this stage this model is targeted for Chinese market only.
i was gonna say the same. very happy with my note 3 pro international version bought from e-global. but if this phone is not available in the international market, you will have to tinker a bit to get google play etc. like i had to on my mi pad 2.
regardless Xiaomi builds quality hardware, no wonder they are compared with APPLE.
the SD810 here has been thermal controlled well but id still choose the SD650 in the RN3pro
Isn't cheaper on AliExpress?
289.99 USD free delivery = ~$397
289.99 + 16.61 USD express delivery = ~$420
not necessarily, as soon as theres conversion through paypal it will fk it up, even if you choose the seller invoice conversion option in paypal, the paypal fees will magically add up to it. here on the website it is shown in AUD, and thats exactly how much you'd pay, when the price is this close id not gamble, blame it on paypal
And you know what? You don't even have the option PayPal to purchase on AliExpress so your argument is invalid.
All the new XiaoMi phones seem to have non-removable batteries. Hope they can have one that is removable.
