HI just wondering if anyone here has this card and what they think about recent cut to earn rate from 1QFF to 0.66QFF.
I'm personally thinking of changing it to BW Zero Platinum to keep no transaction fee on overseas purchases when needed and get AMEX (from what I read Amex rewards seems to be better value than QFF)
Still deciding if Qantas Discovery, Platinum EDGE or The Essential.
IMHO Qantas cards from AMEX beside Discovery are just too expensive for me. 90% of my shopping falls into 1QFF/$1 category which I get for free on Discovery and other benefits such as free flight or club lounge passes are not relevant to me.
I have BankWest Qantas Platinum Mastercard. They are reducing earning from 0.75 to 0.66 QFF points per dollar for this product.
I was only using the card for FX transactions (I pay no annual fee as included with home loan package).
I will probably change to their Platinum More offering for non-Qantas rewards (as my recent experiences with Qantas haven't been so good, and the points seem to be worth much less than they used to be).
Don't have a BW Qantas World MC, but regarding what you say on the amex front;
I'd personally recommend that you apply for the ultimate card through the referral wiki, and pay the $450 AF for the first year and get the 80k signing bonus. $450 for the extra 72,500 QFF points + free domestic qantas return flight. Better than $250 for the 42,500 points for the premium card and qantas club lounge passes imo, but can understand why people would choose this instead. After the first year, change the card down to Qantas Discovery, Platinum EDGE or The Essential. Dealers choice.
