perhaps OK for the duration of the deal you buy, but would need to port out at end of 1/2/3 months as ongoing rates are not competitive.

    $59 for 5GB/unlimited calls/3G versus Aldi's $35 for 5GB/unlimited calls/4G

Standard rates are diabolical. $1 more a month would get me 10gb more data, 4G network and $500 worth of international calls with Jeenee on the $60 plan.

Nice try rep, but with the new aldimobile or jeenee that was posted not long ago, you'll have a hard time getting an Ozbargainer.

  • Is Telstra 3G still decent?
This is worth it for just the 3 months. My only concern is that I've been spoilt with 4G for some time now and may find 3G too slow.

With MeU atm from the 3 months free from student edge deal. No problems so far, sim was delivered super quick, not used to next day delivery up north. 3G speeds are good enough IMO.

In my area sor Perth, for years the following is the case:
      - Telstra 3G, slower than it should be, but 100% steady and always available.
      - Vodafone 3G, some problems to completely down most weekends. Apart from on/off nature of the service, it's the strongest signal (from the only tower in area).
      - Optus 3G, Patchy service reliability but repairs network faster than VF. Weakest signal in area. But it is my belief that ~5 years ago, they implemented a data scheduling system, so some users are waiting (up to about 3 minutes), while others get their data, then it reverses of course. This makes Optus 3G unusable for many uses. Their 4G doesn't appear to be like this, and speed as expected is better.

      3G Winner, Telstra everytime.

  • Kogan Mobile doesn't seem to be too bad, either.
