I can see the difference btw. 720p and 1,080p material on my tvs but I just dont care enough that it worries me.
The above TV needs 4k material and a 4k player which is likely to be a laptop or pc with a next generation AMD or a 900 series Nvidia card in it.
Otherwise you are largely buying 4k because you're an early adopter.
For 4K tvs, you need a closer viewing distance than a full HD (1080p) tv of the same size. For example, ideal distance for a 40 inch 1080p TV is around 6 feet. Same size 4K, the ideal viewing distance becomes 3-4 feet. Beyond that it will be hard to notice any difference in the picture quality between them.
I bought the 55" Bauhn 4K TV (for $799) a few weeks back and it is TERRIBLE. Fed 4K content from a computer it is just awful picture quality. It is BARELY acceptable as a large display for still images (i bought it as a digital advertising display)
Free to air TV is even more terrible than 4K content, my 2013 samsung 55" (only 1080p) is WAY, WAY better.
Do yourselves a favour and spend a few more bucks and buy a LG or Sony or Samsung or bloody anything other than this.
That's what I've been telling these people, but they wanted to save a few bucks and bought a LEMON.
I bought a TV from Aldi once.
Once…
Do aldi stores price match?
No idea
No reflection on the quality of this TV or the deal, but can you actually see the difference betweeen FHD and UHD on a 40" TV from a normal viewing distance (3-6M)? I've got a 40" in the bedroom and I can't see the difference between 720p and 1080p.
