33% off - Left 4 Dead 2 - $20.09 USD on Steam

The AU version is low violence. However there have been people who have used VPN to acquire the full violence version of the game.

I think its worth a buy if you don't have this yet.

  • Have a search on here or whirlpool on how to buy the uncensored version.

  • when does this expire?

    • This will expire after the weekend is over.

  • Does the new 'addon' come with the game or does that cost extra?

    • DLC is free for PC users.

  • Oh heck yeah! It's finally out!
That price must be a record low. Anyone who hasn't grabbed it already should buy the four-pack from the US store for about $16.35 per copy.

  • Anyone actually managed to buy from the US/UK store?

I did this a few months back for the Bioshock 2 4-pack (was cheaper on UK store) but now when I try, it gives me this error when I try to pay for it:

"Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company.

Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged. After reviewing the information below, if you believe your card has been declined in error please try your purchase again"

Not cool! Don't really want this if it's censored, even for the good price :(

    • try buying from a different account

      • What do you mean a different account? I've asked some other people and they are having the same issue.

It appears Valve have implemented a check to prevent people from buying outside their region :(

        • cos that's happened to me before.. i've tried to buy with my cc and it was declined.. but it had worked before.. so i made a new steam account and tried again and it worked.. i had to go thru a US proxy though

  • Oh..that's interesting. What about using a different credit card? Or I suppose I could use my card on a mate's account..reckon that would work?

hmm not sure why you need a proxy though. I thought the fix was using a different account :/

Willing to try a few things, as I actually want this D:

    • i tried a different cc on that same account that declined my cc.. and it didn't work.. u can always try though.. and yes definitely try ur cc on mate's account (it doesn't have to be a new account)

proxy needed so it masks ur ip to a US one.

      • Yeah righto, well I spoke to someone who was also getting this error but he said he hadn't bought anything from a different store before.

So perhaps a proxy is the solution? Which did you use?

    • +1

      Go here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/23579

Follow instructions as set on topic, I used HotShield but that didn't work for me, as soon as I used http://www.anonymitynetwork.com/ my Westpac Mastercard went through.

Based on my research Valve has changed the way things have worked with the whole =?us stuff and you're now required to 'trick' Steam into believing you're from the US based on IP.

From what I've been reading Visa and mastercard has the best success rate, also keep not to not continuously trial and error your credit card on one account, spread it out over a few accounts and take a break every so often otherwise your payment details will be locked by Steam (I think that's what happened to me).

      • Awesome, it worked :)

Thanks for that. Knew there must be some way to get justice! Here's hoping my mate's account doesn't get banned for fraud, or my card gets cancelled or something :/
