Bring original box during TRS process?

When processing TRS at airport, should I bring the original box? (For instance bag, smartphone and electronics)

OR just the receipt and the item itself?

Just the item and receipt. Get a QR code ahead of time and you can use the faster queue.

  • G-poss is absolutely correct. As is the case for warranties, all that is required is the item itself and the receipt. Many peeps chuck the box away as soon as they 'unbox' it (because it is of no use), and this cannot be held against the consumer.

  • Get your QR code here: http://trs.border.gov.au/ (although last time I flew through SYD they merged the queues so no QR-express line :( ).. did have the advantage that they had all my payment details entered in already (I forgot to bring my credit card when I presented the goods).

    • When did you fly? There were two queues when I claimed last month.

      • first week of March. Typical Australian Government efficiency :)

        • Maybe it was a quiet day so they decided to have just one queue.

  • Thanks all, I've decided to download the app and hopefully be able to beat the queue when I'm at the airport
