    Any deals on popcorn? 🍿🍿

It now costs slightly less than gold by weight.

    • I'm a bit outdated in terms of what's currently on the POS - but I believe that there is a $20 double small combo which isn't too shabby. Also, if I'm not mistaken you can get a choc top free if you pay via EFTPOS, although you may have to inquire about it.

You can try your luck and ask for an AHL staff combo (small or medium) and hope they don't ask for proof. May or may not be called out to show proof. Will cost about half the usual if you can get it.

  • How is a "family" defined by GU?

    • In these sessions, it doesn't matter as all tickets (adult, child, concession etc) are $6 each. For G and PG rated movies, 1 adult and three kids or 2 adults and 2 kids (for a different pricing structure).

Not sure why these cinemas charge an online booking fee? That's horrendous.

Is the $6 price available if you buy straight at the cinemas?

Booking fees is basically trading in time for money as people who chose to book online get to choose their seat for which they wish to be seated and able to Jump the Queue, providing it's a busy time upon arrival. At 10am, it's hard to say how many will be lined up, but taking a look at the schedule to see how many movies start around that time will give you a fair idea.

$6.00 is the price at the cinemas per ticket (adult and child), also. I'd rock up at opening time (15 minutes before the first movie) to get the best experience possible.

Thanks. Yep understand that for the convenience. But I've been to cinemas overseas and there usually is no booking fee.

        • There's no booking fee if you visit beforehand and physically pre-purchase the tickets though.

      • Shouldn't they be paying us as they have to employ less staff?

  • These generally occur outside of the school holidays, with each ticket at $6 each, and you don't have to have kids to take advantage of the $6 tickets. Though, the session is likely to have kids watching and potentially creating unwanted disruptions :(

Ummm……. If I'm correct, pretty sure Village has Kids Flix sessions on weekends at $5.

I agree with the people posting above. Online booking fees suck. We do the work at home and have to pay. If you line up at the cinema their staff do the work (and get paid by the cinema) and you don't pay a booking fee. That's arse about. You should have to pay more if you use their staff and less if you do it yourself…
