  • Shows as $99 for me?

    • Same

      • Just uploaded picture of an add in paper. My store is set to box hill Victoria. Maybe a vic only deal?

        • +1

Damn. I'm in dire need of a new letterbox.

    • $99 in SA as well
      /me sadface

  • Showed as $99 for me initially at Chullora store, I set my store to Hawthorn East and it came up as $69, so maybe VIC only?

  • $99 here also, maybe a in-store only price as the bottom note in the screen shot indicates? Or just certain stores/areas.

  • Will update to say Victoria only, but maybe show picture in store to get for $69

  • Cant someone easily steal this?

    • +3

It's quite heavy about 30-40kgs, so not that easy

i have a 46kg rottweiler that broker her ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) a few months ago…. even after surgery to fix it i have had to carry her everywhere several times a day…

i think carrying your wimpy 30-40kg letterbox would be far more easy to deal with :)

you need to concrete that into the ground…. or else somehow mount it solidly if you dont want it "walking" late at nite….

        • Why would someone steal a letterbox?

        • @drazman2000: why would anyone steal anything?

        • +2

          @drazman2000:

A bit like why would anyone steal a green wheely bin, they're free?
I asked the suppliers, and they said around 1100 p/y get stolen in our region.
          People are just strange.

        • @drazman2000: because their masters didn't have a sale?

      • ah ok.
        thanks :)

ROFL. What kind of wimp makes a comment like that?

The thief only needs lift this into their car… it's not like they need to run a marathon with it.

        • And reap the riches of an empty mail box well worth the effort

        • @drazman2000:

And SAVE THEMSELVES $200 on buying a letterbox.

          DOH !!

        • @llama: you mean $69 hahah then someone will just take it from them and so on

nope… caus i secure my $15 letterbox with 50kg of cement buried in my front yard……….. good luck "lifting" that out into the back of your vehicle like llama said…..

    • You liquid nail this to a concrete base. That's what I did anyways with my one.

      • +2

You mean a 4kg paver, like the OP reckons?

Yeah, that will provide stability and theft protection. Not.

    • +4

I stole a letterbox once. Took it home. Spent a few hours installing it then realised the numbers on the front didn't match my address. Threw it in the bin. Was a waste of time. Moral of story: only steal letter boxes with matching numbers to your own address.

A girl was mean to me in my youth and I took it my anger out on her mail box, barely bent it, maybe just paint this something you like but others may think looks horrible so no one wants to steal it?

        • +1

maybe just paint this something you like but others may think looks horrible so no one wants to steal it?

That sounds like a good way to keep a girlfriend too.

        • @llama: It's well known that bashing a letterbox increases your attractiveness, c'mon guys catch up.

          @Diji1:

Ooops, I worded my reply poorly. Was a little too obtuse to understand.

What I meant was to just paint your girlfriend something you like but others may think looks horrible so no one wants to steal it

        • @llama: huh? so paint your girlfriend on the letterbox?

  • Yeah I might take the screen shot to masters in the morning see what they can do 😉

  • I paid $179 couple of months back for same :(

    Hey that's my house!

    • Haha, I remembered that when seeing this deal

Easy to install using a paver and some liquid nails!!!

    WHAT ????

What's the paver do? Add a couple of kg to the weight?

  • +1

saw these tonight they are not stone or cement, they sound like metal with as the add says a "durable Render style finish" still look good but definitely not stone

  • +9

Gonna buy one and install in front of an Australia Post depot. Makes it easier for them to deliver my parcel.

    • +2

Easier doesnt mean they will - Its Aust Post, they will still find an excuse for you to have to pick it up inside the depot :)

      • +1

I make it easier for them by addressing my parcels directly there (Parcel Collect).

That way I get an email when it's ready, rather than having to wait for the postie bike to deliver the card.

  • Anybody bought in Sydney?

    • I boughted something.

  • No stock anywhere in Sydney
Also this one is about 10cm shorter than the one sold at Bunnings

  • Thanks OP , Picked up 4 for all the four investment properties
Both colours still available @ Masters, Burnside.

  • These are very easy to tip over and then end up cracking.

Just be aware. Maybe you could secure it somehow.

    • +2

Er, you need to concrete it into the ground… it's not a freestanding letterbox !

    • These are very easy to tip over and then end up cracking.

      Think about it. Slowly.

      The answer will become clear.

Hint: Consider how you would prevent the same problem with ANY freestanding latterbox.

      • Thanks guys I've never really given letterboxes much thought :P

The one that tipped over was actually cemented in. The cement must have cracked or it separated at the base.
