Hi, I'm unable to connect my recorder to my TV and would appreciate any help. The models are Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Recorder DMR-BWT450 & Panasonic LCD Television TX-32LWD500A. When a friend first hooked it up it, the TV functioned normally for 2 hours until he tried to insert a disc. Screen then went blank. After some fiddling, it came on again but when I moved the recorder, TV screen went blank again and has not come on again since. I wonder if the problem might be a loose connection in the recorder? The recorder is brand new under warranty but if a technician comes out and finds that the fault is our stupidity and not the machine's, we will get charged. Any help, perhaps with a web link would be much appreciated. Panasonic have so far not come up with a solution. Many thanks in advance.

Tks very much, will check cable. I don't know what an HDMI cable is :( but will google it. Don't have another TV unfortunately.
Standard steps to isolate the problem:
- Try a different hdmi cable
- Try the recorder with a different TV but same cable
- Try the TV with a different source (like a laptop or chromecast) but same cable
- Try a different hdmi port on the TV but same cable, same recorder
If more than one of these fail, you've got more than one broken part (unless it's 2 & 4, in which case just your TV is broken)
Tks very much, will try these steps with laptop. TV is not broken as it still works with old DVD recorder.
Check the cable as well.
Tku :)
don't have DMR-BWT450, but another Panasonic unit. are you using the drive select button on the remote to switch between the Bluray & HHD?
Will try drive select button, tku :)
Try the blu ray recorder on another tv, would be the first thing I would do. im guessing you are using a hdmi cable?
