Lumia 532 (Telstra Locked) - Is It Compatible with Optus 3G?

Hi,

Anyone know if you unlock a Telstra locked 3G phone (Lumia 532), does it then work on the Optus 3G network?

I read that Telstra uses 850MHz for their 3G, and Optus uses 900MHz.
And that the carrier locked prepaid phones are locked to either of the above frequencies - but not both?

    Phone is locked to the Telstra network, rather than the frequency. What you need to do is unlocking it — a bit more info from previous forum thread. Phone itself supports both 850MHz & 900Mhz so once unlocked it should work fine on Optus 3G.

    Thanks, I've unlocked it and it works fine with the Optus SIM.

        I gave Telstra a call. It should have been $25, but because I had alot of services on Telstra and the amount of credit that went through the phone, they did it for nothing.
