Hi guys,

The Ozbargain community really helped out on the forum when I asked a question motorbike security, so I really hope that this will help some of you.

Found some cheap motorbike OnGuard disk lock on the Peter Stevens website.
They have it in black or yellow, in 5.5mm or 10mm.

I also bought some gloves reduced to $10 from $44.95, see the link.

Keep in mind that the linked gloves are motorcross/dirt gloves, and will be next to useless in terms of protection on the road.

you can get chunkier and alarmed disc brake locks off ebay for around $20 (yes a little more but has the added bonus of a motion sensitive alarm).
Also always use the reminder cable if you use these types of locks… else it can cause some pretty bad damage!

Would not recommend those gloves… i got a pair of RJays full leather gauntlets for only $20 from Sydney City Motorcycles (though have upgraded to some even better ones now with fancy kevlar knuckles)

  That's good to know about the RJays gauntlets, I will have a look. I got the gloves from Peter Stevens for hot days and short trips.

    i'd be even more weary of wearing those style gloves on hot days… wouldn't the artificial fibres melt if they grazed the bitumen? (touch wood none of ever come off their bikes)
    
    In any case, ride safe - i suppose cheap gear is possibly better than no safety gear.
    
    Dont be a squid - plenty of bargains to be had for safety gear. Check out aldi the next time they have their sale.
