Hi,
I bought a 32mm Turbo brush on June 6, 2015 from Godfreys. It gradually started making noise, and now as the noise level has increased greatly, we took it to one of their stores in Melbourne. But to our surprise, we were told that such items are not covered under warranty for not more than 3 or 4 months.
I am not a lawyer, neither is this an expensive item. ($50) However, as a consumer, I expect that an electrical item would work properly for the initial first year; and if it does not, it should come under warranty and either be fixed or replaced. This item is still within the 1 year window period, deserves to be fixed or replaced.
I feel helpless although I think it may not be right for an Australian business house to say an electrical item is covered by warranty only for the initial 3-4 months. And they (perhaps!) can not do this under Australian consumer guarantees too. It's not about the money here, but if something is not right, then they should be made aware of that - if needed, through a lesson. But then, I am not sure what are my options here either.
Would you please share your wisdom.
Many thanks.
