why didnt ask
does it also include 60" curve FHD TV and 7.1 surround speaker system?
Does your post include Apple fanboi ravings?
i love apple gear, its the best! however that watch sure does suck…
Such a shame that this has such a sucky Snapdragon 810 processor. Was gonna upgrade to this from my Z1, until I kept hearing reports of overheating, etc.
Guess they're clearing these out to make way for the X flagship?
yup stay away from the 810 :) i have it in my m9… dunno how they passed QA tests lol
The Z5P had enough room for sufficient cooling, but sadly that has not been discounted or come with any bonuses. :(
Z5P comes with bonus quick charger and those same earphones, you're supposed to get them free at Harvey Norman/JB Hifi/Good Guys. It's a hidden deal.
OK fine, not discounted then. :P
It's a shame. The 810 is a fine chip when implemented carefully. Runs great, and more importantly, cool in my 6P. Qualcomm built a 4th revision of the chip and attached a team of engineers, and together them and Huawei were able to make it run as you'd expect from a flagship SoC.
Have the compact. Gets hot quicker. Disappointed with 810 snapdragon. Can't believe it made into so many phones last year
But have had 3-4 major falls with a lot of noise
Luckily no breaks or scratches (is just in a clear eBay hard plastic shell)
I wish they packed or at least stocked the upgraded NC750/NW750 Digital Noise Cancelling earphones, they actually work pretty good and have Hi Res Audio, not that I use it, (NC31 user) but those ones died on me recently :p
Hi Res audio like above 16bit where the human ear cannot percieve any difference compared to CD?
Nice to see decent redemption deals for Aus purchasers. The S7 Edge pre-order in the states came with 6 Gear VR games and some carriers had options for a Gear S2 (instead of the VR), and then Samsung had an additional SD card on top of that - where as Aus customers only got the VR.
You cannot consider yourself a truly civilised human being if you do not own a charging dock for your mobile.
Sounds extreme? GET A DOCK!
I have a charging pillow. I have gone beyond human, or at least homo sapiens (haha, wise man indeed). I am the first of a new species of humanoid, homo perfectus
Ha-ha you said homo
Good deal but I'm still waiting for my GCM-10 controller mount for my Z3C I ordered in January (using my $25 voucher from the survey that was posted on here). I call up about every 4 weeks to see if anything has progressed on my order only to be told that they are waiting for stock. Hopefully they send out the items separately otherwise you could be waiting a long time for your new Z5.
On a side the note the dock is really handy, I also use it with my Z3C.
The dock is handy but can be picked up a LOT cheaper on Ebay (yes not sony but doesnt really matter). I received mine from China for the Xperia tablet in about 2 weeks for under $4. Sony are pretty good in boxing everything up separately as I also received the game control mount in a separate box the following day when purchased together.
Must be getting rid of stock to get ready for the X Performance, since the X and Xa is coming out at the end of May.
Upgrading to X performance from my Z2.
Can't wait for the X Performance!
It's a Snap 810 phone released late in 2015 (October). Same SoC used early in the year with HTC One. One known for overheating. A bit late to the party and quickly superseded.
Meh.
Plus for Sony post. Very very underrated phones. Been using Xperia's since the arc and its the only software that looks perfectly laid out.
Yes fantastic phones. I'm now on the Z3 but I can't see that its worth it to upgrade to Z5 atm, going to await for another X announcement (hopefully a true flagship)
I believe the Z3 is widely considered a great phone, while the Z5 is widely considered a major disappointment in comparison. It has overheating and battery consumption issues the z3 never had.
Same from me - although in my case I have an 'ancient' Z2! It still is a great mobile - the various iterations since mine have brought some improvements (as well as some drawbacks) but there really hasn't been a major reason for me to upgrade other than the fingerprint reader.
Thought about moving back to a Nexus, but I like the sd card support. Also thought about some other mobiles but (although some of the baked in apps can be annoying) the build quality of the Sony is hard to beat in the android camp. Fingers crossed about the X series.
Make way for the brand new Xperia X Xperia XA and Xperia X Premium as the Z retires for good and is old old stock.
RIP Z series
$784 for an old retired stock is not bad. Could have been worse.
For a "premium" phone, it suffers from a lot of problems. The reviews are not so favorable.
Ausdroid
Major Cons:
* The camera isn’t as good as Sony would like us to believe
* Neither is the battery life – power users need to carry a power pack or have a charger on hand
* Inexcusable pauses and slowdowns, despite updates in the interim
* Rear lip is a turn-off on the standard and Premium units
Ausdroid took more than 6 months to review the Z5 and that's because they received more than half a dozen units with severe issues.
I wouldn't be spending any money on a phone that has so many issues.
whats with multi-posting the same comment, are you a apple fanboi or something?
Nope, not an Apple fan-boi. Infact, I purchased two LG G4s recently. I did a lot of research on the Sony Xperia phones prior to purchasing the G4s. I was surprised that there are so many issues with the Z5s, but not many people are aware of it.
I have to admit that the xperia phones are good looking phones and the specs look great on paper. However, the experience of these phones in the real world is not so favorable. The fact that Ausdroid took 6 months to review a phone because they kept receiving 'dud' devices shows that something is clearly wrong with these phones.
the Z3 is awesome still. no need to upgrade
No way I'll pay that price for a 1K screen. No deals!
a 1K screen
*1080p… Wish they never coined the term 4K because it's clearly confusing for consumers.
Unfortunately it feels like the Z5 is a horrible phone, don't have one myself but reports of overheating and other issues really hurts at 700+.
Was hoping to get one but have too pass.
Initially I thought this was the Z5P…for the Z5, + for the effort, but I'll pass.
Does it also include free screen cracking and phantom touching?
