  I'm not seeing it mate. It's $10.95 for me online. It might be a deal that you can redeem only on your xbox 360, so i'll check when i get home.

  I saw it too, just newly bought an XB360. But when I activated my first month free XB gold, it disappeard.

  I got an X360 in November and used a 'month Gold free' code that came with my console to buy reduced games in the Xmas/New Year Xbox Live Store sale.

  Just as that month was expiring a 'Renew Gold for $1' appeared on my dashboard ("you are a valued customer").
  'Gold for $1' has returned a couple of times (is there currently and was there at the end February) but seems to disappear at the start of a new month.
  I have yet to accept it so I don't know if the offer would reappear again if I did, or if it is a one-off for each user.

  I got negged in the Games with Gold deal for saying I was a bit frustrated at the timing of this offer - it's never on when there's a free game I actually want. Just bad coincidence, I suppose, but still frustrating, nonetheless.
  The two games I'd have used it to 'purchase' both appeared at the start of a month so the offer had gone temporarily while those two were up.(Gears of War 2 and Dead Space). Usually there's a leak of the next month's free games at the end of the month so I slipped up in missing out on GoW2 because I could have taken the offer as soon as it was leaked but I didn't realise the offer would vanish before the game was made free. When Dead Space was leaked I was looking out for the offer but it didn't appear until the free game had changed. Grrr!

    Perhaps you can look through some of the posts on OzB and score yourself a 12 month subscription for around $40…that way you won't miss out on any games you may want and you won't have people calling you out for being unreasonably frustrated that you're not getting $1 Gold ongoing.

      I'd hope I could pick up the two old games for a lot less than the $38 difference you mention! Even moreso as $54 is the cheapest 1-year subscription I've seen lately.
      Not exactly Ozbargainly advice to suggest someone should buy a yearly subscription to purchase two games they might have got for $1 each or even $10 pre-owned!

      However, just to clarify, I am not frustrated because I can't get an ongoing $1 Gold subscription. Nor have I complained about any aspect of Gold, (although the deal for Xbox 360 is nowhere near as good value as it is for Xbox One despite being the same price).
      My frustration is that the timing of the offer never coincides with a free game that I care about (there's only a two-week window for Xbox 360 users).
      I'm aware that this is probably just bad luck. Another user might have the opposite fortune and find he gets the $1 offer while there is a game available that he/she would like.

  Xbox 360 is a decent console and cheap DVD player for me , and has a large game library that hasn't been ported to xbone yet

  My Gold subscription ended a couple of months ago. I have the $1 offer on my console today. Shame I bought Saints Row IV 2 days go ha!

    I almost bought it for $5 from Target a fortnight ago. They couldn't find the disc for Saints Row the Third, so I left both games.

      Me too I almost bought it and now I got it for $1 and a few more XBone Games which I don't have a XBone yet.

  I had this offer show up on my Xbox One dashboard yesterday too … never used / paid for Gold before - don't know if that makes any difference, but can confirm the deal. Fine print states its only available through the offer screen on the dashboard, and the deal ends mid May (11th from memory - might be wrong, isn't nearby).
