110

Everbuying is currently having a sale on Xiaomi Piston III for US $12.59, and even lower at US $10.34 (possibly $10.14) if you are bothered to tweak around for 2 minutes, absolute bargain of a price. Only 200pc left at time of posting, so won't last too long.

To get the price of US $10.34 (thanks to altomic for the method)

  1. Register a new account to get 100 EB points which brings the price down $2 in checkout.
  2. Access Everbuying via the mobile site to get a further 2% off
  3. Add item to cart and select free shipping at checkout. If the Price doesn't show up as $10.34, select postal insurance and then unselect it.

EDIT: Just confirmed my email address after creating my account, and I managed to get an additional 10 EB points, bringing the total down a further 20 cents to US $10.14 (~AU $13.3). See picture here.

  • i would recommend spending a little more and get the xiaomi hybrid instead.

I just received my Xiaomi piston hybrids and they are awesome for only a couple of dollars more.
They need a significant burn in time first to get them up to speed first.

      • How good?
Genuinely intrigued as someone who loves sound. Currently settling for some Quadbeat3. Definitely do the job but I've had Etymotic HR5 (~$200) before which I absolutely adored. Are these just another set of very good but not 'something special' IEMs or are they well worth checking out..?

        • I guess what I mean is, are they just good bang for buck or are they actually really good?

        • if you've got high-end earphones, then the hybrid would be under the "good but nothing special IEMs". It's less than $20 surely you can't expect it to compare to $200 earphones.

in terms of sound quality, the hybrid presents more detail compared to the piston 3 but is nowhere as clear (or sharp) as custom IEMs. Good highs, good lows; i use this to listen to operas and classical music when i can't be bothered to break out the expensive stuff. Ok for bassy music although Beats is more suited for that. I can't be bothered with an in-depth analysis here as there are enough online reviews.

these are earphones for bus / train rides where you'd rather hear The Weeknd than Madame Butterfly. These are earphones you can stuff into your jeans without a protective hard case. These are earphones that won't give you a heart attack when you catch Captain Meow Meow playing with it. These are earphones you re-order without a second thought when Captain Meow Meow is done with the first.

        • @xdirex:

Definitely comparable to the $100+ IEM's.
Very clear highs and Bass and initially lack lustre mid but has much improved with burn-in.

    These are probably fakes

    • Definitely genuine, check out past deals here:

I'm sure there would be many negs and everbuying banned if they were fake.

You linked to the exact same deal I linked to (though I edited after I commented).

The deal got 89 votes and 3555 clicks, so hundreds of people would've ordered, yet I can't find a single comment claiming it's fake? So you can't confirm that they are fake either.

I'm sure that fake earphones can easily be identified as they sound extremely underwhelming. Comments in the recent deal such as this and this suggest otherwise. No comment on it being fake probably means that it's genuine.

Looking at the product page, EB seems like a store which are steadily improved their reputation here, and have an active rep. They have around 10 active earphone deals on the front page, so dont think that they are fake. I'm sure that ozbargainers are well-informed and the quickest to identify if they received fakes, and get the store banned.

          @lyl:
Piston headphones should be sold with a unique code number you can check on Xiaomi website. Mine had them from a differnt retailer.
If they are sold without it then they are more than likely fakes. Most people said last time they received no unique code.

Fakes do not necessary mean the sound is extremely underwhelming..
