  i signed up after seeing it and have used this site before for other deals just never registered to post until now on a deal thats a real bargain if you compare the rest on offer

      you can't really compare openvz to kvm.

      openvz is flawed with security issues that i won't touch with a 10 foot pole.

      on a cloud is kvm and in melbourne

        Performancewise OpenVZ is superior.

        There definitely is a use case for KVM however.

        @blighst: performance on openvz might be better but kvm is definitely a more reliable platform from my experience

    sockpuppeting is when you act as a normal user but you actually work for the company and try to say good things about them

    Penalty - permanent ban

    If found guilty of joining with another account that will be terminated as well

      No catch that I can see. I've been running a mail server there for a few months I used a 70% coupon and paid $10.50 USD
      I recently added 2 more for playing around with for another $35.
      Initial setup can be flaky, I had to create the server 3 times before I could connect properly but it has been rock solid ever since.
      You can run Centos, Ubuntu, Windows server or windows 7

    These guys are rubbish, they're over allocating everything.
    my vm file system keeps getting errors and goes into read only mode can't remount. (over allocated disk?)
    the vm takes like more than 1hr to boot sometimes and other times doesn't boot.
    such a waste of time.

    if you're looking for vps to play with. amazon aws is free for 1year
    otherwise hostus is quite good and extremely cheap as blighst commented above.

    How is Vultr cheaper, when the cheapest plan is $5 USD per month? Yes it does have more memory more monthly data etc, just that if your needs is just a 512MB VPS then this offer at $4.97/month would be cheaper. The price has certainly came down a lot since they launched last year, and it appears that they are still hosted with Micron21 which is pricey.
