Organic hipsters don't like pesticides being used on anything and many pesticides cause cancer. They probably think that the cotton will give them cancer since the crop was laden with pesticides and is now clothing.

I'd assume the cotton has been grown organically. Chemicals used in fabrics can leak into the skin and cause all sorts of damage. I'm sure pesticide residue wouldn't be too healthy either. Don't you ever wonder why 1/3 or 1/2 people get cancer these days? 1/2 was the most recent statistic I read.
