Connect within 1 second, both sides can be charging

So it won't charge if you take longer than 1 second to connect the cable?? 👀

    • it means that you can connect the magnetic adaptor quickly, once you connect it successfully, it will begin to charge.

Could be OP isn't a native English speaker and simply thought you misunderstood the wording of the post.

  • worth a shot..

  • will this work with protective cases like lifeproof on the iphone 5 or 6? or with Ipad air apple case?

    • yes, there is no problem to use it for the phone with a protective case

    Znaps!

Ztill waiting! I ordered $100 worth of znaps via the Kickstarter campaign and they still haven't finalised the proof samples!

        Same same..

      • Me too… we must be getting close though…

Can you get these in USB type C?

    • Been looking for the same thing. So far only griffin has an official product but the type c connector that goes into the mac is much too large to keep inserted full time.

    • Comment deleted (I somehow misread the question)

    Is this MFI certified?

    Is it MFI?

Is it really that hard to plug in a lightning connector?

    • no, you can plug in the connector easily, and also can take it out with pry plate.

    Is it mfi?

  • Solution looking for a problem. Replace one plug with another?

    • Not really a "Solution looking for a problem".

More that people aren't grasping the advantage of it.

It would certainly be a solution for most homes if it was an "adaptor" so that numerous devices (Lightning, MicroUSB and USB Type C) could all be charged with a single cable.

The magnetic connection (theoretically) means that there is almost no "protrusion" from the device, which means that the adaptors could be left in place without annoyance or damage from being bashed.

So, is there 3 versions of this that all use the same magnetic connection?

Really cool idea…. I purchased 10 of these.
    NEGATIVES:
7/10 worked initially 3 had bad connections
The other 7 all lost their magnetic hold after 4-7 months.
They dont fit well if your using covers, most of the time you need to cut out a hole in cover.
Very hard to push in and can damage the phone plug, it happened on my S4, so angry.
It is super hard to pull out if you need to.,,Say you forgot to carry the cable and only have the original connector.
Just make sure you pull it out with even pressure on each side of the plug.
    POSITIVES:
Perfect in the dark, so easy to use but the light is always on and very bright in the bedroom.
    Phones charge either way
Can be used as Data cable, when plugged in the right way only.

AHHHH - so you didn't purchase these at all (these are Lighting connectors for Apple products).

You purchased something else, so your comments are somewhat irrelevant to this deal.

Used on from them, soon you connect displays the message that its not compatible. You have to connect and disconnect couple of times to charge. Finally went in the bin

    MFI?

    • +2

Rep won't answer that question though asked multiple times.

      • MFI = Maybe Feigning Ignorance :-)

  • +3

Reading by the comments it does not sound like these are MFI.
Also the fact that it does not state anywhere Whether its MFI would tell me that it is not.

I think everyone knows that having MFI is a huge selling point so not saying the cable has mfi when if it did would be a big mistake.

    • No manufacturer pays USD $4 or $5 for a MFI Certified chipset, and then doesn't mention it.

In fact, no manufacturer pays USD $4 or $5 for a MFI Certified chipset and then sells the complete cable for less than cost so that the retailer's price is US$4.79

      [wink]
