Hi all,
Any recommendations on what is the best bang for buck android sticks available?
Or what sort of processor I should be looking for?
I researched online but it seems most reviews are for sticks which are like 3+ yrs old.

im starting a new movement and coining a new term! mwahahahaha
This is the very first time I'm hearing "Android Sticks". Ever.
They're still selling a (admittedly updated) version of the MK808b that I bought 3 years ago!
The rise of the Chromecast has probably killed off Android TV Sticks as a competitive market for a Video device.
And Raspberry Pi/Windows sticks have probably killed off the market for a computer on the TV market.
What do you need the Android Stick for?
More like a portable media player / gaming console.
e.g. pair up a ps3 controller and play games.
Travelling a lot, and makes watching videos easier if i just plug one into tvs in the hotel.
Chromecast doesn't do so well in that sort of scenario.
I have a Tronsmart Vega S89 (amlogic) and Tronsmart Orion R68 Meta (rockchip). Look at the specs, the name of the box changes but many of them have similar hardware. In my case the S89 is more reliable but the R68 is faster however the sound and video goes out of sync sometimes which is annoying. I'm hoping there will be a software fix for the issue sooner or later.
To answer your question specifically buy whatever is popular on complementary forums with the specifications you are wanting; it is more likely you will get support from other people with the same box rather than the company itself. Have a look at freaktab.com and XDA consider purchasing something most people there own.
+1 for Freaktab
Seems to be the place to go for Custom ROM's for Android Sticks.
Find a stick that has Good Custom ROM support.. Even if you don't plan to use it, at least you know it's there if you come across problems with the out of box experience.
