Hi Ozbargainers,
Is anyone else backing SLASH LCD screen 3D printer on Kickstarter?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/644653534/slash-the-nex…
They are printing whatever the users send them – http://imgur.com/a/lYkAR
XY resolution is fixed at 75um due to LCD pixels but Z resolution is up to 10um.
I know XY resolution is a bit large but build plate is decent and printer is fast.
They make their own resin and selling at $69 per 0.5l, but a mod can be made to use other resins (other resin not much cheaper atm).
I thought it would be good for any of you who were thinking of upgrading from FDM printers. For the price I think this is a good deal.
As a backer of more than 50 Kickstarer projects I have never seen this level of involvement and care. They answer every single backer comment.
In my humble opinion Kickstarter doesn't offer guarantees but these guys seem so very genuine with a good product.
This is something that caught my eye in the past, 3D printing. It looks like another language to me. Can anyone point to a primer for this tech, so a non-techy might understand it?
I'd especially like to know if there is a procedure/program for translating a (let's say a macro photo of a native bee) image into data a 3D printer can render, or how is it done, if possible yet?
