very disappointing, its become the norm that a non "arcade game" is included these days, appears not.
I am so surprised we haven't seen any launch titles added yet, even like Forza 5.
they have released great games, sunset overdrive, thief, Lords of the fallen, i think its pretty good that we actually got some good games the last few months.

I wouldn't call Defense Grid 2 'crap'. 78 on metacritic is pretty solid (81 for PC). Costume Quest 2 isn't so great at 65, but there have been worse free games from gold.
As for the Xbox 360 games, 78 for Grid 2 and 89 for Peggle.
If it's not a 3D action game do kids just not bother these days?
DG2 is pretty much the pinnacle of tower defense games, I would hardly call it crap.

Well at least we get grid 2. Grid 1 was great and im not even a huge racing fan. I already own peggle but it is funner than it looks. Better when playing with friends though. Couldn't care less for the other too. Not really disappointed though. If i get 1 above average game a month i'm happy :)
grid 2 isnt bad but as usual, its one of those things where there's just not enough games let alone GOOD games that they can give away for free every 2 weeks…
I'm getting frustrated with this Games for Gold. I'm on Xbox 360 so only two of the games each month apply to me anyway and only for half a month each. So far, out of the games this year, only two that I don't already own have appealed to me: Gears of War 2 and Dead Space.
Annoyingly they offer me "Go Gold for $1" every so often and currently I have such an offer, but this never coincides with a game I'd like. The offer was there just after GoW2 went off, and just before Dead Space was leaked, and it's back now Dead Space has gone.I already have GRID Autosport black edition that I haven't yet played. It's behind N4S Most Wanted and Forza Horizon in my 'to play' list. Considering that list also contains Driver SF and Midnight Club LA, I may never get around to playing it!
Even if the two games apply to you, still claim the xbox one titles. If or when you get an xbox one those games will all be available for you to download straight away.

If you're using the $1 promo only, you get what you pay for.I thought the xbox one titles only remain on your account so long as you have an ongoing gold subscription? My understanding is that once you let it lapse you only keep the 360 games on the account. I haven't experienced this personally but that is certainly what I had read in a few places. Can anyone confirm?
The deal is supposed to be that with XB1 you keep the games, you just can't play them unless you have an active sub.
That said, I have a family member who let his sub lapse in Jan, but is still playing his GWG games on XB1???
@kaneissik: No, XB1…I know for sure he's still playing Thief & Tomb Raider, but he hasn't complained about any other titles not working either…actually, he's not complaining at all…he knows how to not rock the boat with these things! ;)
Should not be surprised that many things are broken in the Xbox One ecosystem. This is one of them.
what gwg allows you to do is purchase the game for free ($0 purchase). they are still accessible without gold after purchase as you now own the game.

You do realise the sub is for playing online, right? The bonus games are just that. A bonus. If it's a crap serve of games, so be it. If it wasn't for Sony doing there original plus subscription just for games xbox would still be offering you nothing except the ability to play online.

And FWIW, yes, it is my choice to view it that way. It's also the reality. The subscription allows you to play online and it has games included (2 for XBONE, 2 for XB360). If you buy it for one and consider the other bonus, great. Don't suggest that that's the case for everyone.

we have an old 360, downloaded NBA JAM which still works on the XBONE. If I got grid 2 for the 360, would that transfer across to the XBONE too? Or does it not work that way?
Yeah all Xbox 360 games that are free with Games with Gold will be backwards compatible on the Xbox One.

Agreed. Xbox has come leaps and bounds since release and now offers tons more than the PS4. The monthly free games are decent more often than not and the 360 games that are backwards compatible certainly add to the value since the 360 had so many great titles.
Xbox has a lot of respect from me now that I can almost download all of my Xbox 360 games to Xbox One for free. Hate how Sony makes everyone pay for them again a part from the first few that were free. Makes no sense.
What does this have to do with what another different product is offering? if this months games is bad its bad if they are good it's good, does the fact that it's better or worse then what PS+ is getting change what we are getting here on Xbox Live?
So if we got $20 worth of games and PS+ got $50 then it's bad but if PS+ got $10 then the same $20 games are good?
Because they're in direct competition and many people have both consoles (like myself). I've been underwhelmed with PS+ since I got a PS4. Microsoft has been doing much better as a service since they got their head out of their ass. Sony might have won the overall race but Microsoft has done a better job.

Seriously, why do people always bitch about the titles when they're not AAA full priced games, as if they're entitled to them? They're a FREE bonus of a gold subscription. You get good months and not so good months, but they're free. You're still getting 4 games a month which is more than what people can even finish in a month. Most probably don't even play the games they're given; they just like to complain. People are just greedy.
Defense Grid was an awesome tower defense game, and I've been waiting for DG2 so I'm happy enough.
Looking at it positively, GWG gives you the opportunity to play games you might never have even considered playing, and for all you know, you may end up liking them.
For people who only buy the gold subscription for the games (like me), they're not free.
FWIW, I'm not complaining about what games we've had, as the subscription only costs ~$5 a month and the games are always worth at least that to me, but I am paying $5 a month solely for the games.
Not a great lineup compared to previous months but at least free games are still included as part of the Xbox Live subscription. Unlike a little while back where the incentive to buy a subscription was so that you could play online. Though i too would probably stop paying for Gold if they didn't include free games.
The quality of free games with gold doesn't bother me as much as the quality of backwards compatible games.

They should be on the dashboard and free providing you have a gold subscription? Alternatively, you can login in to:
and claim the games from there. Just do a search for them if your having trouble finding them and it should say they're free with Gold. Claim them by going through a checkout process and they should start automatically downloading when you next turn your console and connect to Xbox Live.
