Mobile billing issue: Virgin Failed to apply $20 discount on $60 sim only post-paid.

As in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/233199

I signed up for the plan, and have just received a bill for the full $60, rather than the agreed $40.

Obviously I will call Virgin, but I wanted to know if this happened to anyone else who jumped on that deal.

Cheers!

It happened to my girlfriend also; she's going to call them about it for the second time.

Annoyingly, when she called up the first time about a month ago, she was initially accused of lying about this deal! The lady on the other end told her that the deal never existed…

    • Yes that's what I was worried about - I just don't want another argument… but it is early in the day, perhaps I will develop some fire by mid-afternoon.

    • You probably spoke to the same woman as me. I doubt she knows what year it is. Pathetic service…

Give it about a week, it's because they have to manually apply the $20 discount. Happens to me every month, I called them last month and they said that they have to manually go through and apply the discount as they don't have a automatic way of applying it yet.

    • Roger that, will still probs call. Can confirm result here.

      • Don't bother calling, just online chat them, it's so much easier

Discount applied now, once I login to my account. Others are indeed correct that it is applied AFTER (24-48H?) your bill is issued.

All is well in the Virgin world, but for how long ozbarganeers, for how long…?

  • Just had my discount applied, no worries at all, automatically after about 3 business days

    Tell me about it !

I signed up for two contracts with VirginMobile (not recently), first one never had any reason to complain but the second one yikes
got sick of those CSOs saying snappy you are wrong and that never happened ! Told one particular CSO i would be recording the call !
Resolved to not use them till i could have a record of chats or proof like in store provide.

    • Always record customer service calls, especially when you are agreeing to buy something.

They inform you the call is being recorded, there is no expectation of privacy for you or for them

If the recording is a verbal record of the formal contract, surely both parties can keep a copy :)
