I am after a phone with wireless (Qi) charging in-built. I might go on a plan for a flagship but will be interested in something below $450. I know all Samsung Galaxy range after S5 have wireless charging but not a Samsung fan.
What Phones Have Wireless Charging Inbuilt?
Comments
Nokia Lumia 735 has it built-in. No idea about charging it that way - never bothered to buy a wireless charger.
Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Moto Maxx, Moto X Force, Yotaphone 2, Elephone P9000, Blackberry Priv, Blackberry Passport, Blackberry Z30, Blackberry Classic, Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 820, Lumia 920, Lumia 928, Lumia 930, Lumia 735, Vertu Signature Touch, CAT S50, ASUS Padfone S, LG Optimus G Pro. That's a pretty complete list of modern phones that support it out of the box in Australia, off the top of my head.
LG G3, LG G4 you can get a charging coil from eBay for around $5 and stick it inside the case.
Yep, as I said, out of the box. You can do that with every Galaxy S and Note phone too.
Rereading I was not as clear as I thought, LG G3 supports Qi charging out of the box. G4 needs the insert or LG circle case. The Lumia 820 needs a Qi charging case, which is one of the very few accessories still available at Dick Smith.
Wish I never got hooked on Qi charging, it reduces the phone options so much!
@OZB Al: i think the with the g4 you can also just install the coil itself on the removable back, should be youtube videos about it (might be possible with other phones but i just recall seeing the g4 on youtube somewhere)
I'm using an old phone and it has qi charging built in: LG Nexus 4
