Samsung Galaxy S5 for Newbies?

For around $400 budget I can get the Samsung Galaxy s5, is this the best option for newbie user - (parent) for basic use? Because of the easy mode option it comes with?

I heard there are apps that can simplify the screen layout as well, but is it any good?

    I had two friends who have never had a proper android smartphone before get this phone recently and they got used to it fine.
    My mum actually has an S7 - easy mode makes it easy to use, by simplifying the interface down to even the settings. The main screen becomes the clock and 6 main apps (Phone, Messages, Internet, Camera, Contacts, and Gallery) and all the apps are on the main screen when you swipe left. Swiping right comes up with a panel that you can add contacts to.

    Awesome starter phone IMO

    Smart Launcher 3 is also pretty good too. I use it on my tablet since it declutters the screen and keeps everything all the apps categorized.

    Wasting your money buying a two year old phone. Get a Nexus 5X, they are 300 bucks.
