I found this on Amazon - great sale on lots of classics, some cheapest ever. Even including shipping it's great and the exchange rate isn't too bad.

I'm looking at 'Robo Rally' and 'Castles of Burgundy', but other great options are '7 Wonders', 'Splendor', 'Dixit'.

How do You get shipping "allowed To" Australia ? Thanks

    • +2

      Pick a different product :/

      • +2

I wish there was a way to filter items by avaiable for shipping to aus. catches me out always when i goto buy a product and they don't sell or ship to aus (amazon esp) :(

        • You could refine your search by the "International Shipping: Ship to Australia" checkbox.

        • @magnacartic:

Oh - you can filter for shipping to australia (or a destination)?? I have never seen/stumbled across the option.

The only option I don't think you can do then is on an actual product, when the board game expired and there was no stock from amazon itself, the other 'stores' that could fill the order would not ship to aus. Unfortunately none of the things i tried could list say which of the 15 retailers would send it to aus, so you had to keep choosing each one and going through the checkout process to be knocked back.

It's very strange as some of the retailers show up as an amazon company, yet it is 'amazon' itself as the default store/stockist that seems to allow inernational shipping for some items.

        • @SaberX: Amazon is actually a marketplace; anyone can sell the item with a same UPC. Unlike eBay, Amazon could directly compete with other sellers. The reason most sellers don't ship internationally is because it costs too much to ship an item with tracking from the United States (besides to Canada). Amazon has the purchasing power to drive down shipping costs. Sucks to be a seller on Amazon.com getting undercut by Amazon, but hey, it's economics. :)

Robo rally is $66 shipped. Please explain the bargain

    Edit: 60 at GP http://www.gamesparadise.com.au/robo-rally

Is this another post getting commenters to do the research for u?

    • The Castles of Burgundy is $41 shipped
Cheapest price elsewhere is $57 on fleaBay
that counts as a bargain in my books

    • +1

It says 59.46 aud shipped for me on amazon.
You hAve to pay delivery (circa 9 dollars on games paradise making it 10 dollars more).

Hate to say it but is this another post getting commenters to do the maths and research for you?

      • Not sure where you're getting the $59.46 figure from. The game (castles of burgundy) itself is $USD19.99, shipping for me was $USD11.42.
Ends up being $AUD42.30 if you use amazon's conversion, obviously less with a 28 degrees card.

Also, never order from gamesparadise. They are the worst board game retailer in Australia.

        • +3

          Try reading it again.
smashed replied to a comment about Robo Rally.
Robo Rally is $59.46 AUD from Amazon, and therefore cheaper than Games Paradise.

    • +1

But you're comparing it to Games Paradise. Anything is a bargain compared to that shop. Especially since you won't expect to receive anything you order from Games Paradise until at least a 6 month wait.

  • +1

    Worth it for Splendor.

  • But most of them don't ship to Australia…

  • Yeah no deals to be had here.. The ONLY good game is Fuse, thats a co-op game running around defusing bombs, short play time too with it being 10 mins long.

Even games like splendor can be had for $30 locally as too many copies are in circulation.

Pandemic Legacy is only $8 off.
    T.I.M.E stories is full price.
Blood rage is $21 off but it really is a 4 player game.
Food chain magnate is full price.
    Patchwork is $4 off.
    Above and below $13 off.
    Nippon $15 off.
    Stronghold v2 is $7 off.
    Caverna is $10 off.

All the good games are either not on sale or 10% off.

    • +1

Most games you listed aren't included in this sale - there are only 77 games in the sale.

      • Thats because good games are never on sale.
Most of the games are stratergy though and so thats why they are on sale the sale is upto 40% off. Most are 10% off.

        • Thats because good games are never on sale.
Most of the games are stratergy though and so thats why they are on sale.

Are you concluding that strategy games are not good games? ;P

        • @Max Power:

Haha definitely not! Im playing stronghold v2 right now. Im also a huge fan of Blood rage and various others.

Put games like food chain magnate for 40% off and see what happens ;)

        • +1

Dungeon Crawl had an awesome sale on games when they were going under. Now they're back.

    • Where's the cheapest local place for board games?

Splendour for $30 is pretty cheap. I can't find anything anywhere near that at boardgamesearch.com.au

What do ppl think about 7 wonders? Looks really highly rated

      • 7 wonders is tricky to get the hang of at first but can be pretty fun once you understand the strategies.

        • I wonder if splendor is easier for a casual gamer?

        • @G Wok:
It's one of the easiest gateway games, definitely recommended

      • Go to games empire or advent games if you want to find a local cheap games store.

      • 7 Wonders is great, especially with the expansions. However if you just want a casual/gateway game, take a look at Sushi Go instead. It's essentially the same game as 7 Wonders, but more simplified and a lot cuter!

    • +1

Even games like splendor can be had for $30 locally as too many copies are in circulation.

      Where?!?

    • +1

Where have you seen splendor for $30 locally? That's really cheap and im definitely interested

  • +1

I bought above and below in mightyApe sale cheaper than Amazon

    • +2

That's great. Too bad it's not available from Mighty Ape any more and isn't actually in the sale if you check the link.

  • +3

Title is misleading, it says UP TO 40% off strategic board games.

"For a limited time only while supplies last, up to 40% off strategy board games for TableTop day."

    • Totally agree. It is UPTO 40% off and amazon isnt stupid :) board games are expensive and a niech market. Sales are never to be had.

But on another subject milsims is opening up again and so cheap board games will be had from there(new owners really need to change the name of the shop though)

    • Thanks for the correction, my bad.

  • I ordered Concept and The Castles of Burgundy for ~$76 AUD.

The cheapest I could find Concept was at ozgameshop for $50.

The cheapest I could find The Castles of Burgundy was ~$60 (or $51 at The Games Capital if I got to $100 for free shipping).

Seems like a good deal to me.

  • Picked up zombicide, 7 wonders and the Manhattan project. Did some quick searching, looks about 20 - 30% cheaper than local inc. shipping.

  • Should have picked up 7 Wonders and Tokaido last night, sold out now!

  • Damn I missed out too

  • Excellent price on Splendor.

In case anyone was wondering about "gateway games" (games that aren't too difficult to get into for newcomers to board games), Dixit, Splendor, Coup and The Resistance are all games I've seen recommended.
I've played Resistance and it's good for fun 6+ players.

  • +1

I got Dixit for 42AUD delivered THANKS OP

    • Glad I could help!

deal ended? The link says "We apologize, this deal is no longer available."
