I want to mount my 19inch LG lcd monitor but there are no holes at the back of the monitor to attach a vesa mount. Is there any monitor mounts which I can use which I can attach the monitor and if possible no drilling.
Anyway to Mount a Non Vesa Compatible LCD Monitor
Comments
It is sometimes possible to do with a hole saw and screws with an extremely narrow head.
I have a double monitor bracket but only one monitor with VESA mounts. I opened it to check clearances and found I could install the mounting plate inside the monitor and screw this plate with screws from the exterior. It connects to the stand through a new opening made with a hole saw.
It couldn't be precisely straight, but there was adjustability in the stand so I could offset the difference. Make sure you know what you're doing, watch out for accidentally earthing the whole thing, and check that there is enough strength in the plastic panel joints to support the weight of the whole monitor.
This is what it looks like today. Might have some build photos floating somewhere.
Thanks for the replies I'm not handy that's why I asked if no drilling, I may just try to sell my monitor and get a new monitor which is able to put a vesa mount on.
Thing is, its a 19" LCD. They are close to being roadside refuse. I have a few 19s in my garage.
You're better off paying under $20 for an exlease that has vesa.
1) get an old busted monitor with mounting holes. cut the back casing (with holes) away from that monitor and then araldite it to the back of your 19inch LG monitor.
2) how handy are you? could the back casing of the LG monitor be removed? if so remove it and bolt from the inside of the back casing on to the mounting bracket. (first make a template of the VESA mount using cardboard and a pen - so you know where to screw from the back of the monitor.
