Where to buy authentic Birkenstocks?

I'd love recommendations on where to buy Birkenstock sandals without having to have RRP.

I looked and looked in Australia and it seemed to me that any time there was a special price, they were hideous colours or uncommon sizes eg 48.
I first saw a good price at a store in Birkenhead Point, then ended up getting them at The Hut (a uk website).

German store. If you buy multiple pairs to minimise shipping cost, it's quite a bit cheaper than RRP (bought three pairs a few years back). Birkenstock Soul in Petersham is more expensive, but helpful staff.
