    In and of itself this is a deal as Etihad could be a persons airline of choice, irrespective of the actual fare charged by other carriers. This gives them up to 20% off. Thank you op

      A company giving you 20% doesn't matter too much if the prices are inflated 20% so the logic of this being a deal 'in and of itself' is flawed.

        Some people value ethihad for their own reasons (service, comfort, frequent flyer points) and because of this deal they are able to save 20% off a fare they would have paid for anyway

        Also keep in mind that ethihad is a highly rated airline

        I often fly etihad for work.

        I'm able to save some money now with this deal. It's a deal for me.

  Saved $600 on return flights to the UK, was at least $200-300 cheaper than any other alternative I could find for flights in October after the discount.
