    Please determine highest quality ?

    • Mm, yes that is hard to determine as it comes down to what is important to you when it comes to luggage. Samsonite are made of polypropylene which is great if you want something lightweight but also strong. That said, a polycarbonate case will be stronger, cheaper (Although that can differ depending on the quality of the polycarbonate)… but is heavier.

Samsonite are known to hold up VERY well over time, they also come with a 10 or 15 year warranty or something.

I went with a 75cm American tourister suitcase as it cost me less than $200, has so far survived over 20 flights with only a few scratches, looks really unique and is made by Samsonite so you get the same warranty. It's heavier but 1 or 2 kilos difference isn't worth the extra cost to me, and the material is suposedly stronger.

      That's my two cents anyway.

      • yea if you dont mind the extra weight. 1+2 kilos heavier IS a lot if you use it as cabin bag. keep that in mind.

  • The sale is also on their website, not sure if it makes a difference!

  • I can vouch for this. It's a great suitcase. Pity this deal isn't still around: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/111074 :)

  • You could fly to Bali and back

or you could get this suitcase.

    • Or do both, and have something that won't break before your next holiday :)

      • Yea I actually wanted to buy a proper suitcase, but on my last trip my cheap one broke and the airport replaced it with a EPIC one, they are pretty good quality so should last a while :)

        • Same, Singapore airlines broke my shit cheapo no name suitcase with an awesome Antler. Went to some luggage repair warehouse and had the pick of a replacement so of course choose something good!

      • (I'm just messing around, there's plenty of cheaper ones that may not be as good but will do the trick for an infrequent traveler!)

Edit: Just saw your response, that's awesome that they replaced it with something better! I used a cheap carry on and it broke after 2 flights so I caved and bought the matching American Tourister one :)

  • Are these suitcase zips sterdy?

  • for a cabin carry on it's understandable for the price - shows your status
but for checked in luggage? if you see how they handle them, you'd like me used sturdy cardboard boxes and throw away afterwards. I've got some cheaper suitcase too.

You're worried about status and your going to carry cardboard boxes through the airport to the checkin desk?

i used to be an advocate for the samsonite firelite/cosmolite series but now having 2 of the 5 samsonite suitcases wheels come off, I am going to stay away from their flimsy wheel design.

    Be warned!

    • I try to highlight this but always get attacked by Samsonite die hards. They're not what they used to be!

As is always noted on these deals, a $100 voucher doesn't drop the actual price you're paying. Instead, consider going to somewhere like luggagegear.com which have the same sale price, + a 10% off coupon
