Just grab the free real estate newspapers from your local shops. Might bleed ink though. Or maybe the glossies at Flight Centre. :)
Wanted to avoid newspaper for that reason- ink on everything!

50 sheets on clearance for $1 at officeworks if you can find stock.
Ask the local butcher?
Now that is an obviously brilliant idea!! Cheers
Not sure you are being sarcastic or not LOL. Anyway, it's where I got mine from. Ask nicely, and the worst that can happen is that they say no. I paid something, but not much.
Wasn't sarcastic - just saying it's so obvious but I didn't think of it.

You could also look for kraft paper (brown wrapping paper) at the usual suppliers

I used to buy it from the local newspaper office. They generally had leftover rolls of various sizes.
Just go to your local butchers.
Kennards box shops are all over the place and sell packaging paper ($13 for 125 sheets of 57x40cm):
https://www.kss.com.au/boxshopI found the sheets were larger than the more expensive OfficeWorks equivalent (sheets) but didn't look at the rolls.
Just noticed this on the OfficeWorks website - $1 for 50 sheets - clearance if you can find some!

Isn't it ridiculous. We throw all our packaging stuff in the recycle bin. Boxes, newspapers etc. And then we have to go and buy packaging materials that you used to get for free.
the money men are in control
why not use bubble wrap? easily obtained at officeworks.
