This is the second generation computer on a stick all for $199 - that is, it is a fully portable self-contained PC.(Other prices I found were around $240 - not available at Umart yet). Plug it into your TV or monitor, plug in power supply, connect keyboard or mouse and you are set to go.

This eBay offer includes a bonus 32Gb microSD card (estimated at $15) which is not shown on the wireless1 web site.

How does it perform?
It's an Atom processor with 2Gmb RAM so it's not a "beast" by a long shot, it does however run basic home or office tasks on this computer, document creation and editing, web browsing, email, watching 1080p videos, and light photo editing. It is limited by 32Gb onboard storage which is shared with Windows 10, so the additional 32Gb or more you provide in the microSD card is required for storage. Of course you can access Dropbox and other web-based storage sites. A tablet with it's own screen offers better flexibility at around or better speed.

  • Store in title please.

  • Misleading picture.

Says 32GB SSD, but these things definitely don't have SSD. It's eMMC.

      Whoops, my apologies.

Listing has been updated to reflect the proper storage :)

Hmmm. Too expensive and under-powered. INot a huge improvement over the old gen Stick.

If there was a computer shop in Oz offering a $200 AUD Kangaroo PC with 4GB RAM / 64GB memory + dock (with bonus built in battery, fingerprint reader!) and I'll be twice as interested

    • Buy an Onda V919 Air for less than $300. You'll get what you need plus a retina screen. It's bigger than stick tho.

gee not bad for $215 - similar specs to the Intel Compute Stick with Z3735 and 2Mb RAM, with a screen it makes it even more useful.

      • I don't think he wanted a tablet…

        • Well, sometimes people (including me) just don't know what they want when information is limited. I wanted to buy an iPad Pro 12 for a laptop substitute solution. I ended buying an Onda V919 4g ram for $1000+ less.

    • I want something that can handle 24/7 operation. It will be used to run BT and a small Java-based program that acts as a peer-to-peer server.

      • no you dont want one of these. Reports on these running 24/7 are not good.

I looked into these before and my conclusion was that the stick form factor is gimmicky and pointless. It's too fat to fit straight into most HDMI ports plus it requires a power cable, so you end up with an awkward dangly mess. The fan isn't quiet either.

There are plenty of mini pc alternatives around $150 running the same specs and passively cooled.

    • Hi Bobjane - what are the names of the alternatives? I'd be interested to see. I did see a Meego but they havent released the English version of their new model as yet.

  • Think I'd rather a Raspberry Pi.

    • does a Raspberry Pi run Windows 10?

      • Better still, it runs Android.

Hi Wireless 1, can you do deals on TP Link D7/D9 modem routers please? :)

Too bad the store is banned on Ozbargain. I'm sure the price can mysteriously go lower on their page ;)
