    • how?

Great weather. Cool but not cold and generally niceish days. Last time I was there it was mid september and it was still too warm to be walking around all day which is often what happens when you are in new york. Plus the tree turn during october and depending on the time of the month central park is beautiful.

I guess it depends on what you want. I love my snow storms so I think Jan/Feb is the best time to go. If you go in December, you'll get to experience the insane Christmas vibe/do NYE in NYC.

Both times I have been to the US were in October and it was awesome. It snowed when we got to New york actually, but LA, San Francisco, Florida and Nevada had perfect weather, sunny and warm but not too hot. The week before Halloween is the BEST time to go to Disney parks as well, almost no line on any ride. Also it's shoulder season so accommodation is quite well priced.

    • May is best
The start of spring puts New Yorkers in a good mood

        • nice work…living the dream

  • requires $20-30 ISIC/IYTC card which you will likely never use

requires you to go through travel agency

    requires cash in store

bad deal for sydney/brisbane. decent for mel/ade

  • No interest in the deal but just wondering how they can get around the age discrimination act. I know these have been around for years just wondered if anyone has challenged this.?

    • yeah, just like pensioner discounts. it's ageist.

    • +1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there student discounts for almost everything, from public transport to entry into various places like amusement parks and pools?

      • most places offer them.

        Glad I'm a student.

    • Is there even legislation to cover who you can and cannot sell a flight to depending on your preferences? Surely that's a decision for the vendor.

  • We went to NY a few months ago with Virgin Australia and it was great. However they code shared with Delta and actually transferred our return flight to Delta operated plane. Not so flash.
