Printer recommendations for printing invitations

Hi all,

I would like to print out my engagement party invitations, and I'm not sure on the best type of printer that we should buy, whether an inkjet or laser would be the best for this kind of printing (to be honest I'm not too sure on the differences between the 2 lol) and if you have a printer you've used for similar purposes.

If you could provide me with your recommendations that would be great.

    I used a laser printer for our wedding invitations, because we were printing on card and fancy paper that would normally just absorb the ink from an ink jet.

    The results are great, although I used a Cannon Multi Function Device (thanks work!) which can probably handle the different types of paper better than a home laser.

    If you only have an ink jet available, you can buy specific paper that wont blot or run.

    Laser will almost always produce a sharper and cleaner result.

    Did ours with a laser printer too. The toner had some issues "sticking" to the paper we used but this was easily fixed by applying a hot iron briefly to each invite. A bit tedious but did the job.
