Myer recently had a deal for the roomba 880 for $700 and i bought 1.
i need to buy a couple more (for my brothers)
good guys said they wont match it based on a docket - even if i purchased it from myer on the same date and went to them.
how do i go about getting the roomba 880 for $700
or then the roomba 780 for $500 (Myer had this deal too)

Can't really condone spending any more on one than that though.

Really? Why would you spend the same money for a device with which you have to do all the work?! Besides, if you were going to spend the money on a vacuum cleaner, I think it has already been established that Miele > Dyson based on previous discussions on this site.

Having used the V6 absolute, it really doesn't involve that much actual work, far less than using a barrel vacuum, and I would guess that it would get far more stuff out of the carpet than 1 of these automatic ones.

I know, but the Dyson is around that kinda money anyways, and you've got to physically do it yourself! :D
The idea of the Roomba, for me, is that it'll keep the house relatively clean without my intervention and then I can grab my other shitty target vacuum cleaner to finish things off if needed, every couple of weeks.
Between myself and the OH, we get home from work late and have either gym/training etc and then we get our dinner and by that time it's fairly late - so don't fancy spending my weekends catching up on the cleaning!
This is especially true if you have pets. The Roomba is great for picking up all that pesky dog hair on a daily basis. Crack out the proper vacuum prior to mopping floors.

jumped on the godfrey instantly (from their website - free shipping). i was almost regretting it not being an 880, but for the price difference I'll be happy enough for a few years.

1 of these deals? - That was nearly a month ago. Expired same day. You have zero chance of getting that deal again soon, unless you can negotiate that sort of price.
