Cheap Vodka [for Deoderising]

Word on the internet is that one can reduce fabric odours by simply spraying the affected area of the garment with a spray of vodka. HOWEVER, this is Australia, so spirits are typically expensive. To that end, where would my fellow OzBargainers suggest I look for the cheapest vodka? (I don't think 'Dovka' and other faux-vodkas would work.) NQR? Aldi? Some obscure online alcohol warehouse?

Kind regards,

L.

    Methylated spirits?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Febreze

In Australia it is called Glade. Scientifically proven odour control.

    • still called Febreeze in Aus too.

Glade is a different (but similar) product from SC Johnson, Febreeze is Proctor & Gamble.

    • Febreeze definitely kills odours but I've had it leave marks on suits before. Glen 20 on the other hand works a treat and sprays as a finer mist so doesn't leave marks.

I wish Nilodor came in a super fine mist spray because that stuff kills stink like nothing else.

      • Would it fix the problem if you were to spray frebreze/Ambi Pur(Glade) further away?

I'm curious, doesn't the washing machine do the job of killing odors already? Like fabric softeners (I think) and and just regular washing powder? thus wasting money on anti-odors

I don't know why people recommend glen 20 because the smell is so powerful! like as if it's mortein and you have the leave the place ventilated. Glade and Ami pur on the other hand is much better. right?
Glen 20 is great but the smell is just too strong.

You can't put suits in the washing machine, or couches, or pillows etc. Fabric refresher is for fabric that can't go into the washing machine.

        • @the-mal:

oh I see. That reminds me of the suit I left in my other room. Shiet thanks.

  • Stick with the vodka, the bonus is you will smell like an alcoholic.

    • Vodka doesnt have a smell

      • Lol yes it does, take it from a recovering alcoholic!

  • Why don't you just buy unscented 100% isopropyl from eBay (assuming it's the alkiehol doing the deoderising which it probably is).

  • Doesn't get any cheaper than this in Australia.
    Haven't bought a bottle in 15 years.
