What's cheap? Around my area (far SW sydney), it's $35 / 30 minute at a school and $33 / 30 minute for private.
Surely there is an app for a tablet to start off learning.
Yes there are.. But a teacher will help provide a good foundation and review your technique for any bad habits.
Try gumtree. I know it may not sound like a good place to look, but I actually found someone close who offered to do them for free just to get experience. I ended up going for 3 years and became good friends with the guy
