  • +1

    dem preservatives. dat artificial flavouring.

    • +2

Make for great desk storage :) who knows maybe they'll be good for the next few winters.

    • dat sodium too.

Last time I checked these had an insane amount of sodium per serve.

      • So not good to consume this?

        • One serve has 700+mg of sodium depending on the flavour. That is at least 30% of your daily intake of sodium. I am sure there are other soups that have a lower sodium content.

      • +1

More energy to work. Should ask the boss to fund them.

        • +1

Except for the fact that sodium content has no relation to the energy in food.

  • I have checked Chicken soup does not contains any chicken related ingredient.

    • +2

      May be present egg?

      • chicken egg or duck egg or other egg?

        • yes

        • @alebox:
But still may be there is nothing related to chicken in the chicken soup!

        • @LoveBargain15: Just like vegan chicken salt.

  • Load up on the MSG folks!

    • -1

      Does it have MSG ?

      • obviously. Why else would KK tell us to load up on it?

You have to read between the lines JV.

  • -1

It's been this price all week… and only 10c cheaper than what it's been selling for the last month…

    • +1

yet its still 10 cents cheaper than woolworths and 10 cents cheaper as you said yourself.

      • -2

Also, it's not all the varieties.

        The chicken noodle isn't included…

Never said all varieties, please read title.

          @JDM4LIFE:

          please read title.

          I did… It's implied.

        • @jv: How is Many the same as all? Many meaning numerous, a large portion Not All.

      • -2

yet its still 10 cents cheaper than woolworths

Nope, 90 cents and Woolies too…

        • +1

perhaps state dependent. NSW shows all $2

same Laksa posted above for your reference

        • "Please note: Special pricing for this catalogue is only available from Wednesday 13th April."

Are they 90c today? Or $2.00?

Come on, jv, admit you're wrong. I want to see that you are capable of it. Is that 2 false comments about this deal?

        • -1

          @ripsnorter:

          Are they 90c today?

          Yes, 90c today at Coles.

          90c tomorrow at Woolies…

          ie. no saving…

        • @jv:

And back to $2 the week after? So grocery specials are never deals? I think we're just going in circles here.

        • -1

          @ripsnorter:

And back to $2 the week after?

will be $1 elsewhere that week more than likely…

So grocery specials are never deals?

when they're not normally discounted and there is a significant price drop, then they are.

        • @jv:

Haha well I will be interested to see if it plays out that way.

        • @jv:

Wow, thanks for those links. I'd never heard of that site, I'll have to check it out in more detail.

Does seem to indicate that it's one week on special at $1/90c then back the next week to normal $2.20/$2 price though… will still be checking out the prices that week.

        • @ripsnorter:

Does seem to indicate that it's one week on special at $1/90c then back the next week to normal $2.20/$2 price though…

They alternate between Coles and Woolies… (except for the summer months when they don't sell much soup)

    • It is still a deal. Who cares if it has been 90c all week? This is still cheaper than standard price and is about as cheap as you can ever get these. Stop wasting everybody's time with pointless quibbles, jv.

      • -2

Who cares if it has been 90c all week?

        It's 90c next week too…

So you're not really saving anything by buying it today.

        It is still a deal.

        I noticed you didn't upvote it… :)

        • Your argument is ridiculous. Basically anything that is on sale for more than 1 day is not a bargain because it is the same price as what it was the day before or will be the day after? What an absolutely inane comment.

        • -1

          @ripsnorter:

Basically anything that is on sale for more than 1 day is not a bargain

          They're your words not mine…

I buy these all the time and they've been 'on sale' for $1 for over a month now. It has become the normal price for this item, so there is no saving

        • @jv:

Ah yep, 90c compared to $1 is no saving at all. Do you even think when you type?

Thanks for quoting me out of context as well.

        • @ripsnorter:

Ah yep, 90c compared to $1 is no saving at all.

As I said, it's 90 cents next week too… So buying this today or tomorrow won't save you any money…

        • @jv:

Ok so under jv's rules of bargains, sales can only be 1 week long? Nobody cares for your nitpicking of deals to try and make all posts fit into your perceived rules.

Most people would be thankful to the OP for alerting them to the cheap price and the opportunity to stock up on these while they are the bargain price of 90c rather than paying full price or eve $1. Most people would be thankful rather than criticising the OP's deal.

        • @ripsnorter:

Ok so under jv's rules of bargains

          I don't have rules, just opinions…

        • @ripsnorter:

Most people would be thankful to the OP for alerting them to the cheap price

How did you come to that conclusion ?

        • @jv:

Why do you bother to try and assert them when you are constantly called out and negged to oblivion? I genuinely can't figure this out.

Your 'opinions' often seem to be that a deal isn't a deal when it clearly is and doesn't contravene any posting guidelines, yet you continue to waste everybody's time.

        • @ripsnorter:

a deal isn't a deal when it clearly is

it's not a deal when I can get it for the same price after this 'supposed' sale is over tomorrow…

        • @jv:

Can you get these for 90c at Coles from Wednesday?

Just keep digging that hole, jv.

        • @ripsnorter:

Can you get these for 90c at Coles from Wednesday?

I can get them at Woolies for 90c… So no saving…

You need to compare the price to all competitors, not just the same store, otherwise, everything would be posted as a bargain.

        • @jv:

And 90c is the normal price? Just because a competitor matches a price to make a product available at a price for not 1 week but 2 doesn't mean it is not a deal. On your logic there'd be next to no point posting any grocery deals given that Coles and Woolies generally copy each other's prices the week after (as has happened here). This product is available at Coles for 90c up until the end of Tuesday. From Wednesday it is available at Woolworth's for a week. I highly doubt it will be 90c at either the week following.

P.S. you don't need to embolden your words. I can decipher what you are saying and I also assume you are intelligent enough to understand my points without me emboldening my key words.

        • @ripsnorter:

Just because a competitor matches a price to make a product available at a price for not 1 week but 2 doesn't mean it is not a deal.

You missed the bit where these have been selling for $1 for over a month now…

        • @ripsnorter:

you don't need to embolden your words.

          You should try it… It's quite liberating…

        • @jv:

You missed the bit where 90c is not 100c

        • @ripsnorter:

I'm aware that it's 10 cents cheaper, but not enough cheaper for me to give it a +ve vote, considering it'll be 90 cents next week too, and quite possibly the weeks to come…

I'm glad you agree it isn't a bargain and haven't upvoted this deal either…

          PS. Nice use of bolding

        • @jv:

The rate I go through these in winter, 10c is worth it to me. But more to the point, I don't consider $1 to be the normal price, but the normal special price, and 90c is the best you'll get.

I rarely vote on deals but just for you, jv, I've made an exception and upvoted.

        • @ripsnorter:

I don't consider $1 to be the normal price

          I do… I don't think I've paid more than $1 for these for years now…

First time I can remember them being this price for about 6 weeks straight though… It's usually about every second week.

        • @ripsnorter:

          I rarely vote on deals

          wow… why not?

        • @jv:

I am more than capable of looking up my voting history, thanks.

I generally only log in to add comments helpful to the deal where I have extra information. Lately though I only seem to be trying to keep comments on track, which has clearly failed here tonight.

Not everybody has the time to post 36,00 comments; most people have lives a little more exciting than that…

        • @ripsnorter:

I only seem to be trying to keep comments on track

are you a mod ? or just a wannabe ?

        • @ripsnorter:

Not everybody has the time to post 36,00 comments

          true

most people have lives a little more exciting than that…

          some people can do both

        • @jv:

Are you? You do seem to focus on telling people to correct or add extra information to deals, and criticise a lot of deals as not being bargains.

I definitely do not want to be. But you don't seem to listen to the volume of negative votes, so I thought you might need a hand. However you seem impervious to change, which is sad.

        • @ripsnorter:

and criticise a lot of deals as not being bargains.

I thought the comments section was to discuss whether or not we thought the post was a bargain or not.

Have I been wrong all these years ???

        • @jv:

So you're not a moderator? You just for some reason feel it is your role to comment on nearly every deal posted on this website? I find it hard to believe that all the deals you comment on are at all of any relevance or interest to you, yet it appears to me you feel the need to comment on everything.

        • @ripsnorter:

I find it hard to believe that all the deals you comment on are at all of any relevance or interest to you

I have about a dozen packets of Continental Cup A Soup in my pantry…

        • @jv:

I didn't say that this deal was of no relevance to you, especially given it is obvious from your comments on the product. Once again you have missed the point in your response.

I do, however, doubt that you are interested in all of the posts about bras; nappies; deals, tickets to events and memberships relevant to Melbourne/Sydney/Gold Coast/WA; Hindi television channel packages (especially given you heavily negged comment about India in another post; or any of the number of assorted deals you for some reason feel compelled to comment on.

        • @ripsnorter:

I didn't say that this deal was of no relevance to you

          you said :

I find it hard to believe that all the deals you comment on are at all of any relevance or interest to you

and I gave you an example of one that was…

        • @ripsnorter:

I do, however, doubt that you are interested in all of the posts

          you are incorrect.

          I have varied interests…

        • @jv:

Oh gee, you gave me an example of the very one we're both talking about (which I never said wasn't), you really got me there, because giving an example of one that wasn't in dispute in the first place really refutes my argument by proving that all the deals you comment on have any relevance/use/interest to you.
