MSY's weekend specials (more specials on site but this was what I was looking for).
Was looking around for a half decent monitor and this was the cheapest by far.
Harvey Norman's price seems to be $258 and Dick Smith's closing down sale 25% off was around $220.

Gloss
Gah…thanks.
There's a linustechtips video where they showed you can quite easily use a rough sandpaper to change the texture of the finish and make it more matte if you please. For $139 if the only downside is gloss finish it's worth a shot, worst case it'll be a scratchy sort of finish rather than even matte.
Is this mountable?
That's the real question.
Yup, pretty hard to argue with that question mark on the end…
Most Samsungs are not. That's why I'm waiting for a deal on LG
sorry been out.
The quick setup guide does have instructions on how to install a wall mount kit so im assuming so.These pictures suggest otherwise:

Shit your right, sorry wall mountable is for a different model but still has it on the same instructions.
I'd think a BenQ AMVA monitor would offer a competitive option to this.
Link? Price?
21.5" Benq GW2255 VA LED Monitor $129 http://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts?id=11148
Better IMHO with 3000:1 Native Contrast Ratio, and cheaper too.
Standard price was (and elsewhere is) $168 - not $250+, still decent deal though.
What's the general consensus on the quality of this monitor in its price range?
These are really good monitors. PLS is the equivalent of an IPS display, so colours, viewing angles will be much better than most other monitors in this price range.
so tempted to buy
Thought this would be a typical price for such a monitor.
PLS is basically Samsung own IPS which has been around for ages, but may not sound much familiar to average consumers. Technically PLS is better than IPS, but I reckon the difference is insignificant. They have VA panels which are shared with Sony.
Nevertheless this is a good buy for someone looking for an IPS monitor
Is the bezel matte or gloss?
