W91T4A6AMAQ

Pointed out by a friend that LiveConnected are offering their Apollo 10 for $4.99 a month (ad subsidized) when using the above coupon found on their twitter page. Otherwise it will cost $8.98 to opt out of advertisements with coupon.
Offer includes 200MB of data per month, 1000 free minutes to any Optus or LiveConnected GSM mobile customer between 8pm to midnight.

The downside is once-off $20 charge for sim cost and postage, per min billing and 45c per MB (not included in $120 cap, meaning if you use 1GB in the month, it will cost a whopping $360 extra!).

Offer ends midnight tonight!

Sorry forgot to include link to the Apollo 10 plan: http://www.liveconnected.me/products/Apollo-10.html
After you add the Apollo 10 plan to cart, you will then be able to enter the coupon code.

  • Im rather annoyed as I joined last week and I have to pay 10 dollars a month compared to 5 dollars. Is there anyway to apply this coupon code onto my account?

    • Where's the liveconnected rep when you need them?
If it wasn't for the $20 start up cost, I would have suggested signing up again, but clearly not worth it short term (would take 4 months to break even). Perhaps the rep can waiver that $10 upgrade/downgrade fee for you so you can get the discount?

  • Does this offer of $4.99/mth last till you cancel the account? Or is it apply to the 1st mth?

    • Quoting from twitter page "Hidden offer: Apollo 10 => $120 of calls&text,1000 mins free time, 200mb of data - $4.99/month - Coupon:W91T4A6AMAQ - Limited time only"
So looks like $4.99/mth until you cancel the account.

  • Yea thats what im thinking, maybe i will just make another sim and cancel the other one because I intend to use them in the long run.

    • As long as its greater than 4 months you break even in the long run.
But you never know what other hidden offers LiveConnected are planning, you may end up regretting going on this plan anyway.

  • Yeah that might true I guess, however if its a higher plan, then its just a upgrade so maybe you can upgrade to the new plan with coupon code? I wouldn't mind Apollo 20 plan for $10 bucks:P

  • Hi.does anybody know if the $120 worth of calls and text includes international calls?

    • no it doesnt! I emailed them and asked a while ago… and they said no!

  • Which one is cheaper ? TPG $1 or this one ?

    • That depends. Do you need 200MB vs 50MB (TPG), 1000 free minutes vs none etc? For calls, TPG will be good for very casual calling, otherwise this plan would suffice for other needs.

  • So, this is 4.95 for how long? Pretty much as long as you want or will it revert to $10 after some time.

    • $4.95/month with coupon until end midnight today. Should not revert to $10/month at all.

  • Handy for someone like me who has a backup mobile phone. I was on a special $11/mth plan, but I've just ported over to this plan. At just under $5/mth it'll easily serve my needs. The data is a bonus as I can make the odd SIP/VoiP call whereever I have wifi access…

  • do you thing paying $3 extra a month for being ad free is worth it? how bad are they? im stuck between choosing ad or no ads

    • nvm, i just read the faqs, 2-6 sms ads are fine with me

    • +1

based on reports on whirlpool, no-one seems to be receiving any ads yet. you can always opt to pay the extra $3 later if it does get bad anyway (I assume it doesn't stuff up the discount if you change it later).
Edit: It's an extra $3.99 to remove ads, not $3.

I took the plunge and signed up. $20 sim cost is high but regardless this looks like a great deal.

  • too late….

  • argh. just missed it.

  • I bought one last night, bit of an impulse purchase - dont really need it, but i go to places where my work supplied vodafone has no reception - so this will make a good back up.

  • Annoying when this happens. For once I did't check Ozbargain every spare moment and then this kind of deal slipped past me. I guess I'll just have to follow them on Twitter now.

  • can you upgrade to this plan?

  • do not port your number to this company waste of time

    • Is this from personal experience? What exactly happened?

  • I am having trouble porting/activating, ive had the sim for a week now and havent been able to use it, im glad my prepaid is still working but im almost out of credit, They hav emailed me that they are working on it, but after my last email, i havent heard rom them since. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yes I had the same trouble but it has been fixed. I received the SIM on 14th April and my number wasn't ported until yesterday. LiveConnected tried at least 5 times to port my number through. They blamed my previous provider for the porting failure… But obviously, it's their own problem! Anyway it's working now.
