    • Thought so.
Was just looking for the link. Posted just recently.
Apparently General consensus of being of average quality/little use?

        • Not in the main heading so not a dupe

4.4 out of 5 on product preview.com.au for the Karcher one. For 1/3 the price with a 2 year warranty this is a good deal.

        • +1

2 years warranty? With who, Masters…..?

        • @2jzzzz:

Yeah, Dick had a few 2-year warranties going too.

          Guess what happened to those?

Soooo, a well known, branded product, which is actually in opposition to your products company has a good review, and you link to it, but then say this is a good deal?
          I'm confused.

    Good price HOB.
For me this is the exact sort of product I am weaning myself off of. I would like to buy this and also the solar security light from the catalog 'cos I am guy and I love stuff like this but out house is virtually afloat with "cool stuff" that never gets used, so I guess I will tell myself that I don't actually need it and I have a perfectly OK normal squeegee for the once a year we actually motivate and do the windows. Phew
Former horder of cool stuff. Learning one day at a time….

It's hard to describe the feeling of decluttering.

      • Relieved!

  • Wonder how these works on louvres where the louvre glass is smaller than the width of the vacuum cleaner.

    • +1

      LOL - WOT?

Obviously it will not work if the glass is smaller.

That is like asking how a 20 cent coin will work in the slot for a 5 cent coin.

    What a waste of money.
Shammy costs about $5 and doesnt require any batteries.
Can also get a squeegee from woolies for a few bucks.

      Shammy

      LOL - it's spelt "chamois"

Old newspaper is free and doesn't require rinsing.

Plus newspaper works HEAPS better at leaving a streak free finish than using a squeegee or whatever. Works much better than paper towels too, because the ink picks up the remaining muck and polishes the glass.

      • At the time of typing i was thinking 'pretty sure this isnt how you spell it'
        But whatevs lol

      • +1

Um…disagree. Have you ever watched professional window cleaners at work? I mean…the really good ones? Its a real art, with no metho, no newspapers, and no chamois or rags of any kind. Just a very very fluid motion with a squeegee that has top quality rubber in it that is quite expensive. The good window cleaners rarely, if ever, use a rag, of any kind. Certainly not newspaper either!

        • The good window cleaners rarely, if ever, use a rag, of any kind. Certainly not newspaper either!

No, and they certainly don't waste $100 or so on some poxy "water vacuum", eh?

Which is exactly what we are discussing here - the uselessness of the device in this "deal".

        • @llama: Yep…absolutely agree with you there! haha. Just Another Gadget, (JAG) that's all I reckon this is. But just my opinion.

        • @nortyjak:

Read comments below - the lithium powered water vacuum sucker in this device somehow makes it clean windows.

Which ignores the fact that the window is cleaned by whatever detergent that you use, together with your physical activity using the rubbing device (which is separate, and doesn't even contain batteries).

I am taking the piss out of the device mainly because nobody has even explained what's the point of it. To me it's the equivalent of an ashtray on a motorbike.

got one, its enough fun to motivate to clean the windows at least once!
so far just one window done so I can compare it to the dirty window next to it and marvel at my handy work.
I have to say, not too bad a result! One point though, is that if you give the squeegy a good hard push against the window, it flexes the body to the point that the motor starts to rub against the body, and then stalls, so don't be expecting too much.

    • +1

Got one today too. Didn't quite push it as hard as you did by the sounds of it, however I did notice the motor straining a bit when I was pressing it down with some force.

That said, I just cleaned my wife's car windows - they were in a disgusting state thanks in large to a 3 year old kid. Now they are crystal clear. So for my purposes, cleaning car windows, cleaning the odd house window and maybe shower screens (hmmm, probably not) I give it a 4.5/5. Great at removing gunk from windows when combined with a proper cleaning agent before hand.

It loses .5 because it does tend to drip out a little depending on the angle you hold it. Was a slight annoyance in the car, shouldn't matter for house windows/mirrors.

Great at removing gunk from windows when combined with a proper cleaning agent before hand.

Yeah, but what advantage is there compared to cleaning a window in a normal way?

The fact that this thing makes a window look more clean than a dirty window is totally irrelevant.

I am struggling to understand why this thing needs a motor and Lithium batteries. LOL

        • Well it made a dirty window much cleaner than I couldn't have achieved without it. Perfectly clean apart from the very bottom where it didn't quite reach (which I just cleaned the old way)

To get it that clean the old way required a lot more rubbing and buffing. Who knows, maybe I'm just overly fussy but I hate marks on the car windows. And this achieves an excellent result with less work than it used to take. YMMV :)
