This is $8 dearer than the microsd previously posted. Sincerity trading on ebay has this very same card for $22.89 delivered. Not sure this is a good deal.

    • +9

Maybe because this is an SD, not a micro SD :)

      • -4

Full size sds are not any more expensive than micro sd; in fact the opposite is true. There is also no reason why sd is superior to micro sd beyond maximum capacity.

        • +2

Where can you get this cheaper in Australia?

        • +8

          @Fiximol: That's not Australian stock.

        • -3

@tightarse: was posted when you asked where it can be found for cheaper and not restricted to Australia.

I love the pcbyte deals you post for us, TA. This one just doesn't look that good.

        • +2

@Fiximol: All good buddy. It's the absolute lowest price I could squeeze out of them.

  • +4

32GB and 64GB of this model are 40MB/s write speed. The 128GB and 256GB have 60MB/s write speed

    • +7

Op should always advertise write speeds to save people trawling through the comments to find out or a ozb wiki listing would be useful
The whole 90MB/s listing can mislead some to think this is a fast card
For file transfers a true 90MB/s write card is great and future proof

      • I agree, but that's if they know.
There can be a ton of dicking-around to get that information, particularly with SD/MicroSD cards. They don't make it easy.

        Quick example
        16GB 90MB/s Read, 60MB/s Write
        32GB 90MB/s Read, 40MB/s Write
        64GB 90MB/s Read, 40MB/s Write
        128GB 90MB/s Read, 60MB/s Write

If the poster gives this info, which appears wrong… they'll get more hassle.

    • I bought the 128Gb version of this card on Amazon with that Sandisk special — the card is absolutely amazing and works like an absolute dream!.

      Writing speed: 76.8 MByte/s
      Reading speed: 80.1 MByte/s
      H2testw v1.4

      • This is a 32GB card. Its write speed is slower than a 128 GB card.Amazon page shows write speed of 40 MB/s for a 32Gb card and 60 MB/s for a 128GB card.

        • Yes I know, which is why I wrote my comment underneath hdieu's comments as a validation that the 128gb does indeed match (and exceed) the 60Mb per sec write speed.

Apologies in advance for any confusion caused as I didn;t intend my comment to be seen within context of it referring to the 32gb version.

  • Generally, how fast does these normally takes to come across to Perth, WA?

    • 5-7 days usually

  • To the people buying this, what will you use this for?

    • +2

      Digital cameras.

    • +7

Stash them in a drawer of course.
Just like eneloops. Just like SSDs. Just like USB cables.
      This is OzB.

      • -1

Really? You just buy because it was on front page?

        • +5

Come on GC, you've been around at least 2 years, you know how us OzBs are… you can never have enough eneloops, SD/microSD cards or SSDs. Personally I don't buy as much as you might think, I just thought I'd write that comment to bring some laughter to those who understand.
          Have a good night.

        • +6

Really? You just buy because it was on front page?

          Yes😃

        • @crouchie: Perhaps we need to rethink that line of thinking. We need to get back to our fundamentals- saving money ;)

        • +1

          @nocure:

Well there is no-cure for you then. :-)

        • +2

@crouchie: haha i know ur only kidding but i really dont get hoarding depreciating tech in a draw - if you are buying even a sixteenth of all the SSD / SD deals on OzB you must be literally losing triple figures each year.

Personally, ill buy such items as i need them - i really dont care if they are $1 cheaper 2 weeks later - the alternative is to snatch up yet another one every time you see a "good deal", toss it in a draw and when it sees daylight months or even years down the track, it will be an old, slow piece of tech worth a fraction of what you paid

Companies like Pc Byte and Shopping Express etc must be making hundreds of dollars per week clear profit off the back of ozbargainers buying up these things with no immediate use in mind!

    • +1

my three dashcams. (soon to be four.) they only use SD cards.
      p&s camera
      dslr camera
extra storage for my eee pc

  • If I hadn't ordered those PNY from Amazon only a few days ago when they were on special I would probably have been more tempted by this offer. Still for those that need a good quality fast card, this one looks pretty sweet.

I am amused by the ebay page where Sandisk says 'Ordinary memory cards perform at upto 5Mb write speed'.. I reckon its been a while since ordinary cards have been that speed and the slowest card I've bought in last 12 months was 64Gb Kingston with a write speed of 14~15Mb per sec.

  • +5

This card cops a bit of a pasting by most review websites. But I guess that's only important if you're looking for a card that needs to handle in excess of 40mb/s write speed. Good price, but for my 7D mk2… I'm paying the extra $10 for the Extreme Pro (also from PC Byte BTW)

    • What's the write speed on that?

      • extreme pro is up to 90MB/s. Better than this.

  • I'd really like to see a deal on a wireless SD card..
eg eyefi mobi pro - at any size but 16GB would be nice.
dont think I can remember the last deal on a wireless card….

  • Pointless comment must be upset!

    • Why do you say that?

      • +1

LOL didn't mean any offense, you don't like the new trend of SSD and SD cards! I do agree there's a crazy amount of them nowadays!

        • +3

No worries bud….nah not upset…i just call things as i see them with next to no thought involved.

With all the phone apps, ebooks, udemy courses, SD and SSD deals, its getting harder and harder to spot Deals that actually save people money, as opposed to opportunistic buying coz they are cheap/free….sometimes 30% or more of the fornt page feed is clogged up with this stuff

Seems to me like Shopping express, futu etc should be listed as beneficiaries on ozbargain - they must make a weekly bank off these recurrent cheap SD card deals!

        • @pointless comment:

Haha yea would be a natural evaluation to list them as beneficiaries, I'm surprised other vendors don't join in considering the crazy amount of hits links get and I'm sure at least 40 percent of the hits are actual buyers.

It's funny though how veteran ozbargainers know of the courses, ebooks, apps and now Ssds and SD cards, we're a family now! LOL!

  • Is this good for a DSLR?

    • +1

Depends what you do with it. If it's light casual stuff it'll be no trouble. Only considerations are that if you use RAW, you'll be dealing with very large files which means you'll fill up a 32GB card very quickly, and if you take many pictures in a row it might take longer to save the buffer to card.

  • Is it theoretically just as fast getting a Microsd card and using a converter? That way the card is interchangeable between sd and microsd use?

  • Paid double this, for half the speed, 8GB… a few years ago.

    How Time Flies!

That said… I haven't needed any more. So still rocking it.

  • For a comparison…
PCCG have a 16GB SanDisk Extreme 45MB/s for $19 (pickup) on clearance.

Another $6.70 goes a LONNNNG way with this deal!!

  • Received mine yesterday. It showed on my computer 30.6MB. I couldn't do anything with it. How bad luck I am.
